Simple question but it's driving me daddy and Google is not helping... I have a hosts file which I've want to replace my current one with but despite being root and renaming the original file I can't copy the other one over (erofs read only file system). What can I use to change the permission or copy the file over without…

The partition is mounted as read-only, you need to mount it read-write. Root Explorer can do this, or if you have TWRP as your recovery you can do it from within there, it's got a basic file manager
