    Melanie has two kids?!

I think she said that Branie about a year ago when Carrie Crowley (can't think of her character's name at the mo!) was chatting to staff about letting some go. But we've never seen the other kid?

I agree Wanderer, it's the best storyline in years in FC. Maybe since Lucy was around. But i can't see 3 of the PW members going on a mad killing spree in Dublin writing 'pig' in blood on fridges in the victims' house:D

Now that would be some episode!! Would leave Love/Hate in the hapenny place:D

Not all cults can be compared to what happened in the Hollywood Hills but that doesn't make them any less dangerous. Waco went on for months and months with a gradual complete loss of power and self control as they truly believed that they belonged to a higher purpose or leader as it were.
If PW remains strong and goes down the road of members committing crimes against the enemy then it has potential. Brookside had a cult where people bombed others as an allegiance to Jesus Christ. Does FC have the stone to do likewise? Probably not but its a complete breath of fresh air finding out.

That's what i think will happen, it will go down the route of many of these cults. Just Miriam, for me, isn't as extreme/crazed as Manson. As in he's one of the scariest, most bizarre, most evil people to ever live. I can't see Miriam ever becoming like him. She's too measured, less frenzied. She may well think she's a messiah figure, evidenced by her comment tonight about Doug being a messanger. I really don't know enough about David Koresh, tbh. However Jim Jones was more akin to Miriam, a reasonably well respected figure in the community. Manson was an outcast in society from childhood.

I was hoping Doug would drop Emmet.

Do you remember Emmet's attempts to escape from Ciaran:D He was like a 90 year old granny.

There's some amount of potential with the storyline alright Wanderer. Hope the trip to Warsaw isn't too long.

At least Doug 'rescuing' Hannah isn't going to be the end of it. No gardai involved or any suspicions coming from the hospital. They can take the story in infinite paths.

I wonder will we get the predictable Hannah and Doug becoming a couple and they along with Pete eventually bringing down the group? KT coming back will be interesting.

Good points nagdefy, food for thought. Miriam could represent a new breed of cult leader, and when she manipulated Emmet into snaring Ronan then Hannah against Doug, she proved how far she will go for the good of "the group".

They were all practically crying tonight when she told them she was going for a little while"no we NEED you!". That kind of power at her fingertips will be hard to resist, she can get them to do practically anything she wants and i dont trust that doctor one bit.

I watched 2 documentaries on Manson and Jim Jones lately on youtube. Very interesting stuff if you get a chance to watch them. I download and watch on my tv! Miriam's name should stay as Manson though as you named her a long way out. Who knows what she'll become.

Best storyline in FC for YEARS. Fact. Manson came into it as a potential partner for Eoghan late last year when Katy was kidnapped, but it turns out she was just trying to round up a whole host of potentially lost and lonely souls to try out her new holistic, alternative New Age group Phoenix Way. Sceptical at first. Emmet has become a complete right hand man to the operations and Mansons techniques have become more aggressive to the point where her members are now completely dependant on her to the point where they will do anything for her.

An answer for anyone and for everything, Manson is manipulative, charming and works for an unknown shady Head Office based in Warsaw. She also managed to bundle one of their most vulnerable members off to their isolated retreat in Donegal to completely brainwash her. Its heading down some dark but my God very entertaining roads.

Also, I'm no fanboy. Look at my posts, I have destroyed how stupid and long the Katy story was, Paul and Niamh, Caddle being over rated etc. But FC have surprised me with how good this story is. Long may it last.

Thanks for the explanation...last time I saw Miriam she was a fairly benign non-description character who we thought might hook up with Eoghan...unexpected turn of events there then...:D

The Sparnarios are reaching peak level ludicrousness! How could that many people stop for a chat in the middle of a shop? A charity shop selling their crap online!!!!! FFS!

Emmet is starting to deliver his lines like Cathal now.

Ok......I'm angry now. I work hard for a living, I'm watching Wednesday's episode. These actors are well paid for these "performances". Manson is one of the worst actors I've ever seen. Mondo's acting is oscar worthy in comparison. As for the script writers and directors!!! Pure sh*te! Wayne can't find one other parking spot in Dublin! As for Deegan the one stop shop for all crimes. Murder, Kidnapping, illegal parking!!!!

I wonder is Manson leaving for a while to spend some time back in Ros Na Run. She's had a few scenes in that soap over the last couple of episodes, albeit supposedly via Skype from Australia where her character there is based. I wouldn't be surprised to see her show up soon enough.

Ah come on how can you say Manson is a bad actress are you for real? She delivers her lines with a chilling efficiency and has that cold charisma about her. Shes an excellent actress. Look at Niamh, Delores Caddle Orla Carrie Crowley etc they cant act for nuts.

She's brutal, as is the whole group story line. It's just not credible at all. It's worse fair city is getting. Emmet is a terrible character as well.

I am so sick if Kerri Anne and her moaning..and the whole cas Wayne charity shop thing is dumb.

Nearly done with the whole show now..it's not even funny anymore

I actually thought the actress played Miriam very good tonight!

She has only one facial expression and one tone of voice no matter what lines she's delivering. Creepy but in a creepy old aunt kind of way. This whole thing is like a school play. Standard really

Seriously? By Fair City standards at best. Any FC performance would stink up a scene in any other tv show. I know it's not always the actors fault . Emmet is doing ok to be fair

Wayne last night was saying he needed somewhere to show off to clients when selling cars. I don't having a charity shop in the back is the way to go.

I tuned out of FC back at the start of the summer due to the shambles that was the Plan and the length of time the Katy storyline went on. After that storylines just kept going around in circles with the same crap played out ad nauseum. Tuned back in a week ago and this Phoenix Way storyline has me back on board. Not sure where it is going (Im thinking a good Christmas Day explosion!) but so far it is moving at a decent pace and Im left wanting to see the next episode. If FC just drop the storyline for a few weeks (as theyve been known to do) then Ill explode myself :D

    Doug is a messenger? :D

I can't wait to buy from the online Helping Hand site. Buy a dress for €1.50 and delivery is €5.00. What planet do these 'writers' live on?

They've gotten a bit more exotic with their destinations to send characters to - Yerevan and Warsaw this week! Beats the usual Galway and Cork anyway!

... and Sligo .. dont forget there have been quite a few mentions of Sligo. I think orla went there for a while not so long ago. And someone else (cant remember)

although why someone would want to travel down to Sligo from Carraigstown when there isnt even a proper motorway from Dublin to Sligo I do not know!

Maybe they took the 3hour+ journey on the train? ...

this doctor fella is a nasty bit of work isnt he?

i like the hannah thing - she's playing the part really good.

Is t'ick Doug gonna save the day? - I hope he does. is there no end to his superman talents - first rescuing Orla from a burning Garage .. and now standing up for hannah .. he's a very likeable t'ick, bless him , a bit one brick short of a load but his all heart really ...

I'm not so sure all the actors are that well paid on Fair City I think there was an article about this a while ago As far as I know they're not on a fixed pay only paid per episode which for a lot of the actors isn't regular The likes of Tommy ,Oisín, Katy etc and the 10 or 15 other regulars who have disappeared are not getting a wage when not onscreen?
