    Anyone recommend a 4k video editing software?

    Preferably something free- dont need anything fancy. For windows.

    What PC are you running? You'll need an i7, 8GB RAM(Min) and an SSD to comfortably edit 4K.

    I was just looking for the same today.
    Lightworks seems to be the best free option from what I've read into earlier.

    Hi guys. Just looking for any advice on the mavic pro. What is the best place to buy including discounts/codes and possible cashback options. I am a tad confused from reading through the thread.

    Thanks a million for any advice.

    Nah - tried it few weeks ago - imports perfectly and its fast to work with - but it will only let you export 720p i think- not even hd- without paying a lot for the full version.

    Oh - i also tried davinci - again very good only this one limits the output to 1024p unless you pay $1000 to $30000 for it.

    Is €773 with TTMAVICP300 the best deal I will find for the Mavic Pro now? BangGood is currently out of stock.

    Davinci 12 is free, and I think it does 4k

    Did you register and use the discount code?

    Had my Mavic up this evening over the club for a bird's-eye view.

    Check out where a little bastard swallow attacked the drone a few seconds (Maybe 2seconds) from the very end of the video. :mad:

    I took it out of the sky straight after it.

    Don't think you need to register, applying TTMAVICP300 will bring it to $899.00 / € 773.14

    What heights were you flying at?

    I was at 400ft there ((max altitude allowed).

    This reminds me; I'm going to need to read all of the IAA rules on flying mine before it comes next week.

    Anyone got a link to drone specific rules?

    Cheers!

    400ft is the legal ceiling for drones in Ireland.

    Be aware that some features of the Mavic are in the Metric system only - so might be a good idea to be using that throughout - so 120m in this case.
    eg. the Return To Home (RTH) Altitude is Meters only - could be a disaster if someone thinks its feet (even though it does say its in meters).

    Anyone thinking of buying the flymore package over the base unit - here is what I've found useful from it - so you can decide yourself if its worth paying the extra for:

    The Fly More Combo includes:
    * "two additional flight batteries (three total)"
    Two batteries are a must - three is nice but I only ever use two

    * two additional propeller pairs
    There are 2 spare already with the base unit and more can be bought easily if and when ever needed - so not worth as an extra.

    * a Battery Charging Hub
    Quite useful - but you could do without. It charges one battery at time - there is another version that charges them altogether that would be better.

    * a Shoulder Bag
    This is the best carrier I have for the mavic - I bought hardcases but keep coming back to this.

    * Car Charger
    I have used this maybe once - it charges faster than the wall charger - but
    really you can do without.

    * a Mavic Battery to USB converter
    Never used it - but keep it in my bag in case I need charge my phone or rc.

    So over all - yes it worth it - but personally I only use one extra battery and the bag - I use the charging doc but could do without it.

    Yeah, I just use the (rough calculations) general rule of thumb that 1m is 3 foot.

    As such I set my RTH at 70m (210ft) well clear of trees and church steeples at that.

    I would imagine flying these in any Irish city/ location with an airport is a no no. Irish cities are small so most would be living within the exclusion limits.
    Unless you are living in the middle of no where and with no one else (not under your control) around then you would possibly be breaking some IAA rule.

    Lads, I'm looking at the Spark combo pack but in red. It doesn't have the pictures of everything you get when you select the white one but I'm assuming its the exact same right.

    Nah, you're fine as long as you avoid the two exclusions.

    Open spaces such as PP or Marlay and specifically avoid other members of the public. Grand.

    The drone won't take off in a no fly zone, using the DJI go app, all NFZS are listed, and the app knows where you are based on gps coordinates.

    There are also apps available that will show you a map of Ireland, and the nfz radius are displayed.

    Like so.

    Airmap is a good app, use it before you leave the house to make sure it's safe to fly

    DJi has a pretty good map, I came across a better one specifying the height restrictions etc, however, can't find the link now.

    https://www.dji.com/flysafe/no-fly

    EDIT - found the better map, it was from FlyRyte. https://www.flyryte.com/airspace/

    If you are new to the controls - There is a simulator built into the mavic - you connect it to your pc and play at flying it without actually taking off.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRgt22a9tcE

    When flying for real - Most important thing is to remember always wait for GPS lock ("Home Point has been updated") before taking off - the drone will attempt fly home then if anything goes wrong during flight.
