    Hi there,
We are relatively new to the boating world having always rented but just purchased our first one. We just have a few queries and would appreciate anyone whom can help us. What is the average cost of a boat survey and where is the cheapest place to get boat insurance? And Finally, Does anyone know Moorings int he Clare side of Lough Derg? that are not over priced? having very little luck googing this! Thanks in advance!

Mike Clinton is your man for any boat work. Google Clinton Marine. He'll have a chat with you on the phone aswell if you have any questions.
I'm sure others here would recommend him.

For Mooring, Nutgrove harbour near Whitegate. I think his name is Michael Holland and his price was reasonable when asked about 5 years ago. I think that his number is 087-8551687.
    Andrew Deakin www.deakinmarine.com for survey.
    Jim.

For moorings around Scarriff or Mountshannon are good areas, quiet and no messers

Pro tip, don't get the cheapest insurance. It'll give you a false sense of security and sod all back up when you need them. Go for any of the bigger marine insurance companies and get the piece of mind.

We've had insurance with Allianz for years - cheap as chips (not a valuable boat, but we do have racing cover) and never let us down when we had various claims over the years.
