we were talking about it at work today, seems like a very strange situation...
loads of cash at home that she took with her but didnt take her ATM, put the TV licence in husbands name, reported missing 3 or 4 days after she left coz he thought she'd gone to her family's house but didn't communicate with her or them...

I dont think it is fair to speculate on a live missing persons case. She may be well and I hope if so she calls her husband or the Gardai.

• Closed Accounts Posts: 1,208 ✭✭✭Lady is a tramp

Jesus this bit is a very messed up thing to be saying to the press. Knowing the wife (if alive) was going to be seeing/hearing it.

I maintained from day one she's too much in love with herself I think to harm herself.
"Any member of the family or people from Fermoy would tell you Tina loves herself more than what she loves anything else on the planet. She's totally in love with the way she looks and everything.
"I think personally, she's too vain to do anything to herself. I've always seen it as a good thing, it's one of the things I've always loved about her."

I've a feeling it's not going to be a case that ends well. :( You wouldn't say that if you thought/knew the person was going to read it, it's like he's trying to cover his own narcissistic arse before her body is even found.

Awful.

The packing of the suitcases would suggest she had made a plan to leave. And maybe she feels that's what she needs to do for whatever reason. I hope if she's left she will at least let her family know she's safe. His comments are odd but he's probably out of his mind with worry so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

Did anyone see her with the suitcases?

Very unusual case to be honest. He's after giving out a lot more information since the Crimecall appeal. During the appeal I was paying attention to social media and lots of people were saying he didn't come across well. People's biggest issues were why it took him so long to report her missing and why nobody spotted here with her suitcases.

What the actual ... if you listen to that radio interview in full, he really doesn't sound at all with it. It seems clear her family believe he has something to do with it. Poor woman, whatever happened to her.

Yes, she's a Dingivan woman from Fermoy.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of any of any real appeals by the family until the past week or so.

Who says that about their own wife? Specially when she's apparently vanished without a trace?

Is there a link to the full radio interview? The OP's bluebillywig link is not bringing me to it..

Thanks for sharing. I find it sadly noticeable he's speaking about her a lot in the past tense. The image of her making xmas the best ever is typical of people who have had something dark ti hide. Not saying he has anything to hide..it's just imo what it resembles. He didn't do himself any favours in this interview.
If any of her poor family are reading this my thoughts and prayers are with them. Please God this poor lady is found soon.

not sure if its okay to mention i didnt see the crimecall thing,
was the husband interviewed by the gardai? her family etc?
has there been any sighting of her? bus stations etc, did she take a car with her?
I just find it so hard to believe that in this day and age someone can fall off the face of the earth. Theres cameras everywhere...

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,423 ✭✭✭Gadgetman496

Well, if she did leave her phone and bank card behind and if she did leg it with a substantial amount of cash (as he suggests she did) it smacks of something planed?

I don't know what relevance his quote "My family hate the Irish" has do do with any of it either?

Their whole relationship came across as strange in that interview to be honest and he was way too forthcoming with what looks to be irrelevant information.

Was listening to podcast on redfm, comes across as a recluse kind of person even though he said a lot of stuff about his missing wife that he was very open about which I found odd...

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭livedadream

sorry just listening again and she didnt take the car, even more weird, so she must have been picked up

Got a feeling this will end like let's face it most people are expecting. Must be utterly heartbreaking for the family.

if that's true, bit strange for her husband to go on the radio and bait her family by saying if they'd paid more attention then it might not have happened.
gutted Neil didnt ask why might not have happened just to see what he'd say.
gunna listen to the families interview now and see what they said.

Well I suppose the husband and family would have being interviewed by Gardai when she went missing in some way.I also think their were houses searched in Youghal and Fermoy.
No car was taken and no sightings. Last sighting is when she was in the house before he went to Aldi. The only way I could figure out to go missing would be to have somebody pick me up at my front door without being spotted.

But was the last sighting of her by her husband only or general public I wonder,I mean she really could be missing a good while

The lat sighting of her in Public was at the Castletownroche car boot sale. Which would have being the day before.

I was watching bits and pieces of Crimecall on Monday night. Got a phone call during the segment about the appeal. I can't remember if it was mentioned about the €26k that she supposedly took with her. Was it mentioned or is this new info?

It wasn't mentioned. I'd have remembered that. No, mention of it until Yesterday.

Very weird interview.

You would wonder how a truck driver and his partner who is out of work would acquire 25k in cash in the house.

Bit strange then if the cash was not mentioned during the appeal. I would have thought that might be a useful piece of information.

I don't like saying it but it definitely sounds and reads like another Joe O'Reilly case, or like that family in England that died in the fire (name escapes me) were the police facilitated a news conference to give the parents enough rope to drop themselves right in it.

He did say in the radio interview that they sold a house and built the new one from scratch for cash.

They bought the house I thought as it seems tp be a terraced home

They sold a house and bought the latest with cash. They had a substantial amount of cash left intended for renovations.
Hope she turns up alive and well very soon.

Well either way, having 25k in cash in the house still seems strange to me.

Doesn't make sense that she left home with two suitcases yet left her bare essentials at home, phone etc..
Must be awful for her family.

He did say she never bothered much with her phone. The family should know this as well.
I've a relative who does the same and if they felt they had to bring their phone with them. They's leave it in the car.

If she did want to disappear, leaving the card and phone behind was smart in the sense that either, if used, could be a means of tracking her.

She didn't need the card if she had shed loads of cash and she certainly could afford a new mobile if she wanted one.

25k is not a lot if paying for food and lodging every day unless she's a hippie type who likes to share nature in the forests

Yes, but in a case of foul play, the card and the phone being left behind means there is no way of establishing that they are NOT being used by a, still supposedly alive, person.

If the card and the phone were thought to be still "in her possession" it would raise even a slight question as to why they were not being used. This way, no questions to that effect are possible.

All know now that the mobile phone is the last thing you need if you don't want people to know your movements if suspected of a crime...

Well on Crimecall it said they/she loved car boot sales and charity shops and that she was very loyal to her pets.

You'd hardly pack two suitcases if you were planning on killing yourself though...
the packing of two suitcases is weird if you were going to runaway from my experience most women doing a runner for any reason don't pack two suitcases...

Are you referring to the crime call interview? Crimecall is never put on the RTE player. The husband did speak on the news for a while on Monday night as well.

This all that appears to be online.
