I saw a man on a bus today without a top on. Admittedly it was very hot. But really! How lacking in class and dignity. What kind of men walk around the streets with their tops off?

Did you knock one out afterwards?

Actually it happened to be a traveller His young kid was running around the bus unattended and just let loose . No supervision at all. I could tell by his accent. But really it shows a lack of awareness of what is appropriate in a man.

Not something I would do myself unless I was lying out in the sun in my own garden or on the beach maybe but I dont personally see anything especially wrong with it.

His sweaty back rubbing off the seat, you think that's alright and fine for the next person to come along and use that seat?

Do you think it's a class thing? Would you be surprised to see your male GP walking down O'Connell Street without his top?

What's the problem? I saw a woman topless at sea point in dun laoghaire on Saturday with kids around, no one batted an eyelid, who cares, have you a nipple phobia?

I'm sure there was some batting going on.

To be honest, I generally dont concern myself with how anyone deports themselves. Some guy with his shirt off shouldn't bother people really.

It's a question of how appropriate it is. On a beach you would be expected to be semi clad but for a man to be bare chested in a public place like a bus or city centre is a different matter. What is nipple phobia?

If an elderly nun boarded the bus with the one available seat beside yer man. Do you think it could bother her?

Was in town centre this evening. Saw a guy run down street with shirt off and in his hand. Ran past a pub with girls at tables outside.
Fair play to him, had the body for it but my immediate thoughts were, this isn't a normal running route.

I was driving in the direction he ran in, less than a minute later he was stopped on side of street, he put his shirt on and his glasses and continued walking.

Went from looking like Baywatch bodyguard to geeky lad.

It could bother anyone, regardless of their age or occupation. It just wouldn't bother me to see a man without a shirt in a public place.

It would take a right Kent to take of his top just to run past a few women.

Not all knackers don't wear shirts.

First world problems...... your in a bus, how long will you be there? he is gonna get off and so are you, you wont see him forever..... if its sticky naked body on the chair you are worried about there are more worse things that could be got from your fully clothed co passengers

Only two generic types of men walk round the streets topless.

One type is called the Deano, the other type is the padjo.

Padjo is a mess of flaps and hair, he's unaware of his belly, and is normally found within a 5 min radius of a bag of concrete.

Deano is a skinny yoke who thinks people care about his malnourisment. He thinks of himself as an Irish tupac, yet hates anyone non white.

Yes. I take my fine flannel shirt off. I throwit into the air and it descends to the ground like a butterfly with broken wings. I puff up my chest outwards like a mating bonobo ape. Then I am told to leave the ladies dressing rooms.

I've seen a few of them strutting about in the hot weather over the past couple of days.

I had a bit of a laugh at one yesterday.
I was sitting in a cafe watching the world go by through the window when I noticed one of these urban Tarzans sauntering confidently up to his car parked just outside.
In he hopped and immediately sprang out again as fast as he could - the back burnt off him on the leather seat :D
He stood staring at the problem for a moment then took a t-shirt out of the back of the car and, instead of putting it on himself, arranged it to cover the back of the seat before carefully easing himself back in.

    Humans are funny.

In fairness, as a solution to his particular predicament, that probably works just as well as actually wearing it.

Today i saw a teen wearing something a bit bigger than a bra, a pair of shorts, socks and trainers. A bare-chested man probably had a greater % of body -coverage than this teen girl/woman, so it is acceptable according to me.

When it is warm enough to warrant it, a person should be allowed go topless. I have jocks that cover more than the micro skirts some chicks wear (in winter).

Don't ever join a sailing crew op

When dying for the loo out to sea, the male sailors just piss over the side regardless of who is watching:pac:

These lads get some burning. Obviously never heard of sunscreen. OP you can take some solace in the fact this fella is probably in agony from sun burn.

Saw of group of these meatheads in Tesco yesterday trying to get a six pack of water at the self service. Kicked out by security for no shirts. All of them had shirts but refused to wear them for that 1minute interval to stay hydrated. Instead they'd rather leave, calling the security guy a fascist. I exchanged a glance with him like

Why, I can think of no better way of guaranteeing their credentials!

Only an individual lacking in rank would exhibit status anxiety.

I grew up in the 70s when it was common practice so it doesn't bother me. It was only in the late 70s that pubs, for instance, began to put up signs saying that patrons needed to wear a top.
