If looking at Mayo, Mount Falcon is good for the above. The Ice House is ok, too, but not so much outdoors activities.

Depending on how much you are looking to spend, Dromoland Castle in Clare is absolutely lovely.

The Armada in Spanish Point, Co. Clare is a lovely hotel and you're not too far from the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee Caves etc and you have loads of options for beaches too. I stayed there last year for a wedding and the food & rooms were fab.

Agree. Plenty to do or not do, adult only pool and spa with indoor out door infinity pool.

Killarney is ideal for outdoorsy stuff and choc full of good standard hotels.

    Farnham Estate in Cavan

This was the first place I thought of.
Lovely spa (no kids allowed) with a fabulous pool. Outdoor woodland walks. Golf. Bicycles for hire.

I was there a couple of years ago with a boyfriend and adored it. I compare other hotels to it all the time and it's still my favourite!

Took my Mum there last weekend and she fell in love with the place too.

Best breakfast you'll eat in Ireland the pool is really lovely.
It has a little door you swim through to go outside and you're surrounded by fields. Any girl would love it there :)
Treat her to a spa treatment too!

Seafield in Goery is fab. Has a private beach which you'll find when you walk through the forest. I wasnt a fan of Farnham compered to Seafield.

Spa in Farnham is 10 times nicer than Seafield.

However, I had of the nicest meals in my life in the main restaurant in Seafield.

I second this. It's a lovely spot. Spa is fabulous, friendly staff and adjacent grounds are lovely to walk around in. Though pick your weekend carefully, it was like feeding time at the zoo when I was there at Easter, so perhaps a quieter time of year might be more enjoyable.
