Bra Fitting Dublin

    Hey ladies!

I've been fitted in M&S in Galway and in Anthony Ryan's but I don't think either of them took the time needed and the bras I bought just sit there and the straps fall down.
I'm going to Dublin today and will have time for browsing around in the city tomorrow and I want to get a proper fitting done.

    Where would ye recommend?

I've only ever been fitted in M&S and Debenhams.
Was thinking of this lately, there was a link posted in one of the threads a few years ago about the best way to self fit which included measuring yourself in a number of different positions (sitting down, bending over etc) to get a more accurate fitting.
Was hoping someone would remember where to find it :D

It's very hard to get measured properly in a shop you are better off to do it yourself as a starting point and try on bras around that size until you find what works, different styles fit differently too.
The boob or bust facebook page has a brilliant fitting guide and help with styles and where to buy good bras.
The clothes for boobs group on facebook is a good place to buy bras and clothes or get help and advice if you are a larger size.

That's the one RQ, I recommend boob or bust on fb though it's easier!

Only saw this now, probably too late.
I have been fitted in Arnotts and definitely found they knew their stuff. Found M&S not good at all.

Arnott's is exactly where I ended up. The ladies in there were very nice! I'm between sizes so it's awkward and I tried on about six before we found the right one. Thankfully it was the cheapest (€46) one she had picked out. There was 20% off though so that softened the blow a bit. It's expensive being a woman!

Now you know your size have a look at places like brastop online. They sell very good bras very cheaply, lots of the great designers are there.
The sales are amazing and if you happen to be an awkward size no one else buys you might get lucky and get older styles very cheaply!!!

The size I was wearing is the same that I ended up buying! It was the age and the quality of the old one that was letting me down (pun intended). Is it easy to return bras if they don't fit?

Is it weird that I'm flattered that you remembered my post? :o

Yeah, ABraThatFits is the gold standard for figuring boobs out. I was well into it for a couple of years, with in depth knowledge of root sizes and shallow boobs etc. Then I got a bit tired of it and ended up back in La Senna bras that give great cleavage but are the wrong size :o. It's definitely a trip down the rabbit hole that will wreck your head at times, but it helps a lot. If I could buy pretty bras in the correct size (32F/FF) without breaking the bank, I'd be all over it.

Yes really easy, if you want an exchange you email them and it's put aside until your return arrives or a refund is processed immediately the return arrives.
Brastop is such an easy company to deal with and the return goes back in the bag they came out in so no hassle with packaging!

didnt think there was too many still getting measured at dept stores anymore with so many experts around and online calculators. My one and only ever instore measurement was a complete shambles from a supposible "expert" in a well known store.
Today i am measured by the same guy who did my augmentation(non-surgical) a few years ago, he also measures my mother, aunts and their friends. he calculates using 4 measurements and making allowance for which of the breast types(out of 7) gives a very accurate reading for UK, USA and EU sizes, also includes the sister sizes.

Do it yourself be aware ..bra sizing differs from brand to brand you can be an A in one and a c in another.

Narrow frame or large cups are really hard to find in shops. I haven't bought a bra in a shop for about 15 years as nowhere stocks my size :(

I always go to Marks in Life Valley to be fitted. I completely agree about different sizes in different bras. The cup and back size can vary with the style of the bra.

This is such a pain though. I despise bra shopping but it's something I really need to do right now. I usually try to stick to the same style from the same store so that I know what fits for a few months then I go again as bra sizes can change so often with weight
