Gonna be a new name on the televised ranking event roll of honour.

Michael Smith v Diving Board & Chris Dobey v Ross Smith is the semi-final line-up at the Europeans.

Another entry in the Michael Smith Big Book of Missed Opportunities, or does he finally get it done?

Peter Wright messing with his darts again when he was coasting

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

Greeves won all 4 tournaments unbelievable. 52 wins in a row

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Best women's dart player right now.

I followed a few of her games this weekend and she just has an extra level compared to Fallon and lisa ashton

    Oh bully boy!!!

Fair play Ross Smith stayed consistent in that final.

    Another tournament goes for Micheal

Must be any pro's dream - to play Michael Smith in your first TV final, given his record

Although in fairness to Bully Boy, he didn't do much wrong this time

Ross Smith is a fine player, been around a few years and always on the 'one to watch' list

Must be very pleasing for him to turn up and play so well in his first big final

I guess some players just have the natural temperament to deal with those situations

Gary Anderson isn't going to the Grand Slam qualifier so he won't be in it for the first time ever even since he was in the BDO. Strange that he's not entering it considering he played the last few Players Championship tour events. Convinced hell retire after Christmas

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,330 ✭✭✭roosterman71

He's pretty much retired as it is. Last few times I seen him play, and especially when he's interviewed, he strikes me as a man only there to placate and fulfill some sponsorship deals he has going or something

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

He's playing on the pro tours today and tomorrow so very strange that he's not playing the qualifier Sunday.

Last player tour tomorrow. Steve lennon in danger of missing out on players championship

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,494 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

John o Shea and mickey mansell both confirmed into world championship.

Steve Lennon misses out on players championship finals and unless he bags a spot at world's qualifier will miss that too

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Steve Beaton will also appear at the worlds for 32nd consecutive year. Made it to today's players tour final

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Is John fully confirmed, or just 99.9% confirmed? There is an outside chance of a couple people not already in the WC field getting into the Grand Slam via the TCH qualifier going on today, and earning enough money to vault themselves into the Top 32, displacing Lewis and Schindler who would then fall back onto their ProTour spots displacing John and Gawlas.

EDIT: Can't forget the PC Finals as well messing with the main Order of Merit.

Steve Lennon just lost 5-4 to mensur for a spot in the grand slam

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Barney, Soots, Wattimena, Edhouse, Schindler, Mensur, Woodhouse, Gawlas all make the Grand Slam. All are currently in the WC already; so John is still good.

Only remote chance of John being knocked out of the WC spot now is two out of:

    • Nathan Rafferty making both GSoD and PC final
    • Ryan Joyce makes the PC final
    • One out of Ted Evetts, Ashton, Fallon, Leonard Gates, Christian Perez wins the Slam

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

Barney qualified for the grandslam. Wade didn't.

    Cheers for the clarification @TheChrisD

The Grand Slam qualifying is a bit unfair.

Williams, Jansen, Lewis, Dolan, Brown, Wade should have all been in it as event winners

Maybe the only unfair part of it was the fact that eight spots went to the TCH qualifier, as opposed to just however many are left available after adding all event winners — although I suppose this way also gives the PDC the chance to remove the TCH qualifiers entirely if they ever decide to bring back WDF representatives.

Peter vs Fallon again, albeit in the groups this time!

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,755 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Some groups there that could be tight

Over 500 entries for the WDF gold event in Killarney this weekend .

Anyone here going to play in it? I haven't thrown much darts since I moved to Galway 4 years ago. Need to start playing again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Florian Hempel wins the German super leage to qualify for worlds. Badly needed that as he's barely hanging onto his tour card.

  • Registered Users Posts: 437 ✭✭TipsyMcStagge

Beau Greaves won the women's WDF Irish open and Jelle Klaasen won the men's.

  • Registered Users Posts: 645 ✭✭✭US3

She won the Irish classic aswell. I got to watch a couple of her games. Unbelievable consistency.

  • Registered Users Posts: 437 ✭✭TipsyMcStagge

She's pure class unbelievable at only 18 as well to be that good often averages high 90s- low 100s. The scary thing is that she's actually going to get better.

So Fallon gets to go to the Worlds…

“In the first of a series of prize fund increases across the PDC circuit to be confirmed in the coming weeks, prize money on the PDC Women's Series will increase to £10,000 per event.

This follows the expansion of the PDC Women's Series to 24 events across six weekends in 2023, meaning that prize money of £240,000 will be on offer next year.

In addition, the winner of the Betfred Women's World Matchplay will also receive a place in the Cazoo World Darts Championship, beginning from the 2022/23 event as inaugural champion Fallon Sherrock returns to Alexandra Palace next month.”

Fair enough if it was for next year but to make a change like that with the winner already decided is bizarre. Kinda feel sorry for her in a way because she will get the brunt of criticism for PDC/Sky’s decision.
