    Teixeira via KO/TKO
    Shocking card.

However, it is nice to have fights on at a reasonable time even if they are on Sunday and I'm also really looking forward to seeing Abdul Razak Alhassan in action again after his demolition job on Charlie Ward in Belfast. He is going for his 8th first round finish in a row!

Wow, nice time for a UFC card.

Looking forward to it since it will prob have John Gooden and Dan Hardy commentating

Held in danger of getting cut I'd say 0-3 since joining given 2 veterans for the other losses that you'd guess they expected a lot more from him, even if Lauzon himself admitted Held should've should've got the decision, he made the fight unexciting so only had himself to blame similar was the case here till he got sparked.

Crikey, Musoke could have secured work in the Ministry of Silly Walks after that temple shot.

Gooden and Hardy are excellent on the call. Such good chemistry between them.

    Really enjoyable stuff

I thought Mahdadi won that but it was a great back and forth fight

I suppose you'd have to say this fight isn't reflecting too well on Charlie Ward.

Was Charlie cut or is he still in the UFC?

He was about to be cut after his debut but Conor managed to get him a second chance. He's on the Glasgow card fighting http://www.ufc.com/fighter/Galore-Bofando

Ha. It's a miracle that he got him a second chance, but poor Ward shouldn't be fighting anyone in the UFC.

Yes, I thought he looked out of his depth but something about him would have made me give him another go too. It may have been a bad night or bad opponent for him. It will be interesting to see if he has made any adjustments as he looked like he needed a good few.

Nice knee to Saunders chin there!

I didn't even see how he went down there until the replay!

    Huge KO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

That's probably the perfect result for the LHW division as a whole. Wide open and breathes a bit of life into it.

    I can't wait for that Aldo/Holloway fight

I'll not get excited until they're both standing opposite each other in that Octagon.

You think Aldo could still bail out?

Give Aldo little chance personally, worry for him mentally if and when hes starched next week.

    I do.

Do usada go and do tests in brazil?

He's got previous so I don't wanna get too excited just yet.

He'll show up but with his training methods we should never be surprised if he picks up a late injury. Obviously camp should be wrapped up by now but he clearly over-trains so who knows what he gets up to over the weekend.

Whatever about USADA, one thing is clear - Nova Uniao haven't adapted well enough to the evolution of training in MMA.

Barao and Claudia are two that have left them anyways, think dede is finishing up coaching there soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,006 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    Very interesting fight here.

Two guys def past their best (Gustaffson less so, but more just reached his peak). More I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Teixeira stops it by strikes but would rather a Gustaffson win.

Swedish MMA needs him to win desperately. They won't be back in Sweden anytime soon if he loses imo.

Really enjoying the crowd. Really getting into it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I was worried up until now but I think he will show up. Although if you were to ask me which fighter is most likely to pull out very late I would say the Diaz Brothers :pac: no, really it would be Aldo.

He does seem very fragile mentally.

I would like to see Holloway win purely to set up possibility of him v McGregor down the road. Still see Conor winning but I prefer him to Aldo who just stays in Brazil and doesn't learn a bit of english etc

    Come on Alex!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,006 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Gustaffson looks great so far. Glover looks slow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Alex did very well in that round but he seems to have his chin up. If Glover catches him it could be lights out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

The speed of Gus' punches. Landing those uppercuts flush.

Glover ate those punches like a champ.

How pointless was that interference from the doctor earlier?

'Can he see?' 'I don't care I wanna fight anyway.' 'Right fire ahead'

Incredible striking from Gus as good as ive ever seen from him.
