Windows defender and anti virus software

If I have windows defender do I really still need anti virus software such as Mcafee , or is it a waste of money ?

Waste of money. Malwarebytes(which is free) is more than most need

You can still get "free" antivirus programs. But here's a good article to make up your mind.

Use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Free (now and again is enough) and you should be all set. McAfee/Norton or any paid antivirus in Windows 8.1/10 is an utter waste of money for a home user, in my view.
