Clik Pour On

Any good deals on Clik ? I have always used Ovisect from Osmonds but if it does not work they will either blame the good or bad weather . I sheared some hoggets at the weekend so I want to treat them now before they are put to an out farm.

Yea, my shearer tells me there's more maggots than usual for the time of year, the new one CLIK EXTRA seems to be coming at the same price for four weeks extra cover

wonder why agridirect is calling their small one 2.5ltr when everyone else has 2.2ltr written on the container......agridirect seems to have no amount written on the container.....wonder is the seal intact on the lid!!!!!!!!:D

Fairly sure he quoted me for 2.5 L over the phone.

I see uk prices are ok & applicator quite cheap. Are there any restrictions in buying online from UK ?

If you look at this 2.2 is written on it, whereas nothing written on agridirect

I think the problem with ordering from the uk might be more to on their end, with higher shipping costs to Ireland or they mightn't be a registered exporter of animal health products

Yes I see 2.2 L advertised on other sites... Makes the 5L even more attractive if we could find it at the price quoted above

yes any product that has a withdrawal period, Fane valley wouldn't sell to me,

most likely a way around it but not worth the hassle,

you could probarbly buy the applicator ok

Remember meeting a rep for clik two years ago. I quizzed them on why their product was so expensive and asked could they sell me some directly. Unfortunately they couldn't sell directly, but under their breath said it even surprises them as to the mark up and now much some retailers charge. it was at a time of a retail price increase and they appeared to know nothing about a increase at their end.

I think I'm going to put in a dipping tank this year. Think it's a better job than the sprays. I see dipping tanks on done deal for 500€. Another 1000 for digging out, bit of concrete and gates etc

Find the clik excellent, is there any other spray on product out there can complete with clik ? I see something called Novartis crovect advertised at a reasonable price in uk but know nothing about it ? One thing for certain won't be buying ectofly again.

We do mix a bit of dip in a budget and spray it on them. Cheap and cheerful

Very hard to do that in the selling season, there could be a six week withdrawal period on the dip and it really only protects them for about three

We use vector here. Find it good. Does what it says on the tin. Still wxpensive though.

... A dipping tank is a good job but hard work.. They do not like going for a swim

What's cliks withdrawal period?
As far as I remember we were using it in July /august time when the majority are breeding ewe lambs and light wethers

Used to use ectofly here but it failed a number of times, even though plenty of product on their back. No issues whatsoever with Clik and find it a way superior product, but expensive . Ectofly is very watery in comparison. I know I'm sounding critical of ectofly , but was highly frustrated of it when standing looking at lambs half eaten with maggots. Was an old thread about it a while back, and several others here had same issues. Having said that, if another product came along that gave as good a protection at a cheaper price, I'd buy that instead.

I used the ectofly applicator with the Click pour on last year and I had no maggots.

Thanks, I usually sell the ram lambs as forward stores in early July and the ewe lambs in August.

Will be getting ewes clipped around the 10th June weather permitting,wouldn't it be time enough until then to treat the lambs with Clik?

It is ok but they are not 100% in standing over their product... They will either blame the bad or good weather for a breakdown of the product. I have used it up until now & will probably change to Clik

We shear in February so a fair bit of wool on sheep at this stage. Got cruel hardship last few yrs with maggots after using all these different pour-ons. Bought a 2nd hand shower last year and find it brilliant. Just set it up where u want and they run through it. Quick and effective!!

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is a hand shower and could you put a picture as I am new into sheep and wouldn't mind using something other than a pour-on!

I shear in august/september and have always found Clik 100% effective this time of the year

Does everyone here put something on the ewes?

We would have shorn here usually around now. The lambs would have gotten click, but the ewes usually got nothing. And they wouldn't hardly ever have gotten any maggots...

We would hardly ever have gotten maggots on ewes here - lambs yes, but never hardly ewes... the very very occasional one... but I think even then, that was before shearing...

It's too expensive alright, it's the only product that does what it says on the tin and they bloody know it

Im sorry dont know what was im my head when i typed that. I meant a mobile shower of coarse. with the numbers weve here Pour-ons were working out too expensive at 2euro a sheep and wasnt entirely happy with the results

Do you put clik on both ewes and lambs now ? Would ewes be ok with the heavy coats over the summer ? Starting to see signs of fly strike here, so better clik or shear soon

We don't do the lambs now, they don't seem to be as prone to maggot when ewes have clik on them, do them at weaning and it covers into october then
