Manchester United have one shot left at making the Champions League next season – and this is most certainly it.

Manchester United have never lost a UEFA two-legged tie after winning the first leg away from home.
    Last time they met…

Manchester United were much the better team when the sides met last Thursday, however it translated to just a one goal advantage.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard were among those culpable of passing up good opportunities before Rashford scored a sublime free-kick.

Manchester United team news v Celta Vigo

Jose Mourinho has hinted, both in his team selection at Arsenal, and in press conferences, that he will play the same team at Old Trafford, as started in Spain.

Mkhitaryan, Darmian and Herrera all started at Arsenal and are expected to start this game as well.

All the long term absentees (Zlatan, Shaw, Rojo) remain out.
Celta Vigo team news v Manchester United

Giuseppe Rossi has a long term injury so won’t return to his former club.

Ruben Blanco is a doubt for Vigo.

They are also expected to play the same team that started in the first leg.

Scary that this trash will get so much more attention here than the Champions League last two weeks.

Theyre the only English side left in Europe and they have a huge following on Boards, what were you expecting?

If utd go 1 up early doors we might get 150-200 posts all night.

If Utd go 1 down or worse, the "neutrals" will run in and double or treble that figure.

I'm hoping it's the former option.

Pray for the soccer mods if it goes sideways. But ye usually get a hold of situations before it goes sideways

If ever there was a supposedly important game of football that I had no interest in, this is it.

No plans to watch it. Its over.

If, as the reports in the OP state, both teams start as they did last week then it should be over by half-time. I'm still going to be nervous in the build-up to kick-off though, going by some performances this year!

Youd think youd have some shame playing in the champions league when youve never won a title in over 20 years.
United will show the specialists in failure how to win a 2nd tier european trophy.
Then the specialists can go celebrate finishing 15 points off the champions.

    When you
    1) have won the CL in a season you qualified but not as champions (as did the other team you refer to) and
    2) are harping on about how this is the best way into the Champions League, you should be able to keep a little bit of perspective.

United to win tonight, by more than one goal (2-0, 3-1)

Why do you and others think it is over?

The United team doesn't have goals in it so one shaky period and a goal conceded and the tie is very much in the melting pot. Celta Vigo won't be as bad again as they were last week, and even if they were we haven't exactly excelled this season in putting away weaker teams.

People talk about Rashford, Martial and Lingard hitting them on the break, between them this season those three have 24 goals in 125 appearances, they aren't exactly prolific.

This tie isn't over, because United aren't good enough for it to be over.

I don't think Celta would have any shame in playing in next season's CL, irrespective of being no where near a title

This is far from done and dusted but United are the favs on paper. But with such a narrow lead and nerves, plus a record of not beating lesser teams at home this year, its fair from over.

If Celta grab an early goal its game on for them.

I think Celta have to go for it and United will be defensive and try exploit them on the counter.

I predict 1-0 United but I will not be putting my money where my mouth is.

I'm repeating a quote from your club's manager in the lead up to this match. First he says, in Celts Vigo's own words this is the most important game in their history. Then he says this is also the most important game for Man Utd too. That's the context. Is directly quoting your club's manager in the correct context really something to warn Man Utd Boards to beware of?

And he followed it up by saying because all the big games are in the past they can't be changed but this can be changed the next game is always the biggest game in his opinion. He said that celta do not want it more then United.

Still a few notables missing, but good to see some of the Celta Boards get in here early, should be a great thread.

    C'mon United.

  • Huge night for Rashford too IMO. Must be hugely exciting for him as a player. Keep forgetting how young he is. Hopefully he steps up to the task.

Also hope Pogba follows up on his dominant performance last week.
