    why cant they put 599.98 on one barcode and 0.01 on the other.
    Because someone will be on here complaining that their one cent barbecue is missing loads of bits and doesn't work.

    Because it doesn't matter how they split the price. The units are sold as a set.

    I can't believe for a second they'd agree just to sell one box, I'd ask the manager directly. Sure they'd be left with half a BBQ.

    The OP is just being difficult and for some reason is happy to settle for a BBQ with no legs and probably no screws or fittings.
