Just finished 7 seconds... they dragged the hell out of it, some annoying lead performances and I really could have thrown the towel in half way through for all the enjoyment I got out of the last few episodes.

I lived right beside Liberty State Park in downtown Jersey City for years, used to walk in it almost every day ... so I was really looking forward to this show .... even while confined to bed with flu/pneumonia, I gave up after 2 episodes! Boy, did it drag...

Anvil - The Story of Anvil is brilliant if you haven’t seen it.

I remember going to the JDIFF premier of this in 2008. Before the movie started the compare informed us that he had a treat for us at the end of the movie and to stay where we were after the credits. As the movie ended the whole band arrived in for a Q&A. It was such a treat after watching such a great human story.

    Haha that’s amazing!

Watched this, the Twisted Sister docu, and the Tribe called Quest one yesterday. All 3 are great viewing for any music fans.

Deadpool is immense. I'm not a superhero movie guy but loved Deadpool.

    Finished Veronica just now.

Decent horror flick with some pretty cool cinematography, almost refreshing at times. Reviews like this (and this) seemed to have hyped it up a good bit more than what's due in terms of the fear-factor.

Must go and research the story it's based on.

2 episodes of 7 seconds watched so far, decent.

World War 2 in colour - Thoroughly engrossing, the enormity. Watch it sparingly.

LA 92 - The sheer violence is overwhelming.

I highly recommend LA 92. It is an incredibly powerful watch. No talking heads - just news and home video footage from the time. The sceens from the riots are particularly violent, however, and require a strong stomach to watch.

The Office and Peepshow are the two best comedy shows ever made IMO.

Einsatzgruppen: The Nazi Death Squads. Very difficult to watch. A lot I had no idea happened outside of what happened in the concentration camps.

Another vote here for LA 92..
And agree, a hard watch, some very disturbing scenes...but I was still thinking about it days later, a sign of a good documentary.

That film added Secret in their Eyes (2015) is very good.

Julia Roberts and Kidman were excellent in it.

Watched Dark whilst snowed in over the weekend. Great show, really enjoyed it. Perfect mix of drama, sci fi & suspense expertly woven together and beautifully shot.

Also finished it, impressive! Really looking forward to season 2, any dates mentioned on when that will be on Netflix?

Don't want to sound "arty-farty" but the original Argentinian film is a much better film. Really worth checking out.

Won the oscar for best foreign language film.

Used to be on Netflix but sadly not anymore.

The original is one of my favourite movies. Outstanding.

Definitely my favourite movie of 2016, I've easily watched it 15+ times including 4 in the cinema.

Thing is it actually *could* work.

Simple set up: Everyone has a camera-like device, recording their lives and interactions with other people. You'll mix that with popularity ratings - as seen in other episodes. The more popular you are, the more likely you are to appear on "Surprise Surprise!" You'll get a cash payment for it maybe but it'll allow everything recorded about you be aired in public, leading to a suitable dystopian nightmare:
"Now listen chuck, we've had a lorra laughs so far but we gotta ask - do you remember a night back in November 2015? 'Coz there's a chap here who does and he says you ran him over and drove off but he's only now managed to recreate the footage. And love, it's not just him - it's the police too! Surprise surprise!"
