Finished when they see us and it's fantastic tv. We'll worth a watch.

I had to stop half way through the last episode, very hard going. Will finish it later on this eve when I’m more emotionally available but ya its deffo well worth a watch

I am mother. Thought that was pretty decent. Apart from that I think I now know pretty much every serial killer and cocaine dealers around the globe thanks to Netflix.

Seems for way too long now the topic is focused on the 2 above...

Come August though for some light entertainment will be the dark crystal series which I'm looking forward to

Watched I am Mother. Definitely one of the best Netflix originals.

I would suggest anyone thinking of watching it avoid the trailer. It's gives away far too much

I went in blind and loved it. Found the story gripping from start to finish. Had great production design and practical effects too

So designated survivor has a new season ? I know there was talk of someone other than the network it was on picking it up but I didn't hear what happened so assumed nothing came of it. It appears I was wrong.

I barely got through the first episode of it. I know they were cleared of the attack on the jogger but it made them seem like angels and the cops were evil bastards. I just doubt it was that clear cut.

Season 3 of Joshua now on Netflix, don’t think it’s as good as season 1 or 2 but there’s a pretty funny episode where one of the characters pretends to be from Cork lol.

Any other fans here of Easy, the Joe Swanberg anthology series? New season has some excellent episodes.

Is this a more adult version of friends with not all characters appearing in every episode?

Really enjoyed it. Held my attention throughout without relying on schmoltzy cliches.

A good movie with a great performance from the young newcomer.

Started a free trial of Amazon Prime and it's absolutely awful and reminds of the isle in Extravision where you'd find old horror movies that you'd never heard of.

Netflix for movies is far superior and I definitely won't be changing over to prime.

    Agreed.

    The first ep however...

Skipped to second due to my infatuation with Andrew Scott

Cheers people for the recommendation of How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast). So much more to it than I expected, excellent.

I wouldn't say Friends but if you're familiar with Swanberg or the Duplass brothers you should enjoy.

I get plenty of use out of both subs tbh. Neither are particularly good for films though imo.

    I Am Mother.

Very good sci-fi in a 70's mould. Dystopian and grim.

I'd have to disagree with you there, I found plenty of good movies on Netflix over the years and the content to be be fairly decent in general.

It's awful for movies, seems to be pretty random such as having A house with a clock in its walls which is relatively new and reasonable, but it has some good shows on it so it's not bad for that.

There is some great movies on it but it's the absolute dross you have to sort through is pretty overwhelming.

When They See Us is brilliant, that last episode had me in tears....I've known the story but the way the actors bring it to life is incredible.

Jharrel Jerome (Korey) deserves every acting accolade available for his performance.

I really liked the first ep. It was a lighter tone, slightly more fun episode. I liked the speculative nature of the VR technology, but I think it was just a little unclear on what message is was trying to say, and usually Black Mirror is on point with its message. Some of the ideas I couldn't decide if it was trying to say are spoilered below
    - the African American "down low" culture of repressed homosexuality.
    - infidelity whether virtual or in reality is still infidelity,
    - implying that men when they utilize the latest technology will try to find a way to exist without women
    - latest media technology will usually be utilized for a sexual nature whether its designed for that or not

I also really enjoyed "I Am Mother". Which was surprising because it was a netflix original.

Thought a bit more about this since I seen it last week and it's not a great film. It's kind of a pointless endeavour when its all over and it wears its stage origins on its sleeve just a wee bit too much. The voice-over monologues, scattered throughout the film, may have worked on stage when spoken directly to the audience but sound completely cheese-ball in the film. Like some drug bore talking scutter to you on a couch at a house party at 6 o'clock in the morning when all you want to do is be left in peace to fall asleep. The interactions between the two brothers are the parts that work best and show you why the two man stage show was such a success. It's a pity that much of what is around these meetings feels like such a ham-fisted attempt to be cool and gritty. I also think that Kirwan, fine job that he did for the most part, was just that bit too old to be playing the title role.

It's a pity because it was a movie I really wanted to enjoy but it just didn't do it for me.

Black Mirror S5: Striking Vipers was ok but felt torn between several themes that weren't explored as well as I'd have liked, and the technological aspect felt underdone. Smithereens was excellent and easily the standout, managing some brilliant laugh out loud moments while still being tense. Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too was a palate cleanser after Smithereens and very much in the more light-hearted vein, and felt amongst other things like Brooker wanting to play with ideas like pomDeter's "Call Me A Hole" mashup of NiN and Carly Rae Jepsen.
