Came a cropper in the sprint in this morning's vets race. Knees were cut up a bit but he took the biggest bang to the head. I left him in the capable hands of his wife at the VHI Swiftcare Clinic - he may need some reconstructive surgery once she's finished with him!!

He's heading off to A&E to get a nasty cut above the eye checked out. Suspect he'll be taking it easy for a while.

Hope any plastic surgery delivers the face you want Rob, and that you get over this and back on the bike quickly. Speaking of the bike, that took a bit of a clout - I'm sure we'll get an update on condition in due course.

Eeeshk. Hate hearing those stories :(

    Get well soon

Ouch. Facial cuts tend to look a lot nastier than they actually are so hopefully this is the case. Either way hopefully all will be well and the missus doesn't kill him altogether

Well Rob, if you're given a choice between losing the bike, or losing the wife, I know which one I'd choose (the bike complains less).

Hope you're back up and pedalling soon.

That fooker will do anything to get a new bike!

Thanks for helping him out Beasty!
He was nagging me to go with him this morning but the bed was more appealing.

Guess he will have to cancel his trip to Spain now!

He's thinking of going in the "slow" group - with the intention of dropping the Lion of Fingal and that other one from your area....

Suspect Richie's may see some business beforehand. His car's abandoned if anyone wants to claim it....

Yes - he can't drive until things settle down a bit and most people from around here had their own cars. We'll sort something out over the next couple of days. His bike's in the back of the halpinator's car. His skinsuit is looking a little the worse for wear. Maybe you guys could do with a new design...

koutobia - you're getting these threads all wrong. The idea is to pass on good wishes, not encourage them to shoot him.....

    :pac:

    Ah right. Sorry.

I will leave it up to Mrs.Fowl to shoot him.

Promised to a club mate. Crash wheels are I think (hope) just buckled...

Thanks for all well wishes, stiff and sore today but already looking at repairing bike and replacing lost bits and bobs. Tentative spin planned for tomorrow...

Good looks are a little damaged but as was said, sure don't chicks love scars :)

Not even sure they were - did have to slacken off the brakes to get the front wheel moving but that may have been due to damage at the shifter end

Thought you would have been chained to the wall and not allowed to get out on the bike, but maybe it's koutobia's dungeon I'm thinking of.....

EDIT: and before anyone jumps to any conclusions, I've heard about it but have never been invited in

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 11,668 Mod ✭✭✭✭RobFowl

Koutobias dungeon is a strictly hetero affair, has asked plenty of times but man to man action not his scene ;)

Fair enough. Guess those chains and whips he keeps going on about are not gender-specific

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,446 ✭✭✭LollipopJimmy

You're a weird bunch, I had been considering joining a club... all this talk of dungeons though has pushed me along. Now just to decide which one to join..

Wouldn't tar the whole club with this sort of stuff - just a couple of high profile individuals therein - think you could probably handle this via PM - no need to join their "club" until you've given them a try out.....

    You and your camp stuff....

BTW turning the dial up to 11 may damage your hearing - although you're probably entitled to free hearing aids by now

Got me wondering now what he was on. I've found a couple of empty phials in the car and am now wondering if the "blood" he left there is his own. Anyway, off to the lab with them tomorrow....
