    skysports-wba-liverpool-west-bromwich-albion-super-sunday_3929640.jpg?20170412181235

West Bromwich Albion (8th) will contest a hoofball football match against Liverpool (4th). Liverpool have never beaten a Pulis side away from home, so the less said about that, the better (or not if you don't like Liverpool).

Pulis has a full squad of players to choose from, while Klopp has pretty much the opposite of that. Henderson, Lallana and Mane are all ruled out due to various injuries.

Expect West Brom to play long balls and Liverpool to defend them poorly.

Prediction: A dull affair with a few yellow cards, and the match won't be great either.

But could you imagine what Tony Pullis could do, if had 200 odd million to spend.

That'd get him either 5.7 Andy Carrolls or for slightly better value, 7.3 Fellainis.

It's sickening to even think about.

    Win for Liverpool :)

As Liverpool can't match WBA for deadball inspired thuggery they'll have to try and get on the front foot early and force them to come out to play a bit.

An early goal for us will allow that to happen. I wonder can a Pulis team actually play football rather than play the percentages football his teams thrive on?

Confirmed #LFC team to face @WBA: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Lucas, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi.

Confirmed #LFC substitutes v @WBA: Karius, Moreno, Grujic, Sturridge, Alexander-Arnold, Woodburn, Gomez.

Hard to play much when the ball is only in play for about twenty minutes.

    That's a very young bench.

Is that three at the back then? with Lucas as a three?

Hope not, 4-3-3 looks more natural with Lucas behind Can, Wiji

I'm hoping if Liverpool go a goal up that West Brom won't be too arsed, but I think it'll be one they are really up for, much as they were vs Arsenal a few weeks back. We almost always find these type of games very difficult.

West Brom must surely be even money at worst to score from a set piece today?

Either that or him sitting in front of them. Might be hard to tell the difference at times.

Looks like it based on the way the players have been listed anyway.

This is the game I've been looking forward to the least of the last 6.

Strong squad for today. Hoping for any result to keep up with City

We've failed to score in only 1 of our last 20 league games, but only kept a clean sheet in one of our last 13. Entertaining for true neutrals anyhow.

I dunno. Maybe a Spaniard who had no interest in the PL or something but then started watching it with no affiliation :pac:

The amount of snobbery about the type of football a team plays is ridiculous. The object of the game is to win as often as possible. West Brom are currently 8th in the table so they are doing a fine job at that for a smaller club.

Pulis deserves credit for what he has done with West Brom.

I have no problem with the concept of it. They're entitled to do whatever they feel they can to get a result. Hell every team wastes time and plays long balls at times. It's just that when they're against you're team it's infuriating as fk.

And sorry mick, I'm losing the run of myself trying to get into the spirit of SUPER SUNDAY!!

Alan Smith, the most annoying of the co-commentators in my eyes.

Why nearly every time do we have to listen to him!

Nearly all of them are annoying (Carragher is near the top of the list of annoying ones) but Smith is the one that really irritates me. Combination of his moany accent, his inane prattle at times, and obviously THAT goal in 1989.

Hate how it is scripted into FIFA with him talking about that night nearly every game you play at Anfield

It's funny, I don't mind Carragher as much any more. His speech has improved immeasurably since he started. Of course he'll be doing the United game later and I'll be screaming at the TV calling him all manner of names.

Not sure how they all missed that hand ball.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

I'm hoping for something to take the stress out of the game. Something like us getting (and scoring) 2 penalties for handball on the line and them getting 2 men sent off, both in the first 20 mins.

    That'd be nice.

Really don't see Origi being up for the physical battle here.

Klavan has a knee injury (according to the fantasy football game).

Really don't see Origi being up for the physical battle here.

he's a weakling for his size... I wouldnt take him into battle.. not a fan of the way he jumps in the air knowing he's not going to get near the ball.... why doesnt he just jump correctly and head the ball...

we need someone to put pressure on their back 4 but he's not the man to do it today :(
