What is your happy song, and why?

My own happy song is The Sweetest Thing by U2. On the day my consultant told me the result of my biopsy was benign, I got into the car and this song was on the radio. The sun was beaming down, and it was one of the best days of my life.

Living On A Thin Line - The Kinks

Sunday Morning Coming Down - Kris K

Roll With The Changes - REO

Shook Me All Night - ACDC

Lion King soundtrack used to be my go-to - now it's Carbon Based Lifeforms "Waves of Wonder" (which is weird, because I'm not usuaully into electronic music...)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Which one did you play when you hopped on your Honda 50 after quitting that job just before you were about to get a pay rise?

Wasn't a rise, it was a bonus, and I was driving a six month old Superb at the time.

Was testing a new sound system that day, so it was probably this, best song for testing soundproofing btw

    Ludovico Einaudi - I Giorni

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rmj3iU36Mmw

Loved it since I first heard it years ago and I guess it brings back good memories!

It's used in all sorts of things now but once I hear one note from it I'll recognise it and smile straight away. There isn't many things that can do that so I choose this song for that reason.

    Love Generation - Bob Sinclar.
How could you not be happy whilst listening to this?

Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap.
Not sure why, but always makes me realize how good, and important, some of the small things in life are.

    Fluorescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys.
Just enjoy the upbeat, lightly-humorous, nature of the song.

    Time to pretend - MGMT.
I don't take drugs, but if I did, I'd take them while listening to this.

Diamonds by Rihanna was on the radio when I got out of the car and back into the car (stupid commercial radion stations) when I was off to buy my wife's engagement ring. Not really a coincidence, I think it was #1 at the time. Still reminds of the 3rd most expensive thing I ever bought after my house and car!

Darude - Sandstorm is the proper one though. It came out right at my teenage disco stage happy times. It's still on my gym and running playlist, I train like a mad man when it comes on shuffle.

Touch Me I'm Going to Scream - My Morning Jacket
Used to listen to this a lot whilst getting stoned. It's such a beautiful, intense journey of a song, it always makes me happy. It's one song that always grabs my attention and takes control of my mind, probably why it's such a good one to get stoned to.

I can't see the youtube clips atm so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley pulls me back to a particular time and place. It's fair to say it was the best time I've ever had, but not to say that the rest is a drag.

It's also bittersweet because you know you can't go back, and the song seems to perfectly capture that slightly melancholy nostalgia.
