What Could Last?

Can mankind make something that could last for as long as he is around?

    Has it already been made?

Will the pyramids be here forever? The Great Wall? A perfect Hanso sword? A Fabergé egg?

Maybe something a bit more lateral will last until the last man... Music? Double entry bookkeeping?

Is the best yet to come?

I donno.... I think Boards is like a modern Roman Senate where the folk go to discuss important matters of the day. Debate format may change, but a good thread is forever.

A good thread maybe forever, but if you comment in an old thread it gets locked super quick. #nozombiethreadshere

There are very few structures that will last beyond mankind inhabitance of the planet. Perhaps one such structure is Onkalo spent nuclear fuel repository, in Finland.

For anyone interested, there is a good documentary on it called "Into Eternity"

Unfortunately we made creatures called kardashians and a load of other idiots that are famous for sweet fcuk all and they don't seem to be going anywhere so as long as mankind is around more of these idiots will be made.

President Michael Higgins bless his little cotton socks.

Once he finishes his term or kicks it, they should abolish that office.

Fcking joke of a tin pot country with an upper house, a lower house and a President. :o:o:o:o:o

Tiny place place with every state agency or office either run sideways or crooked.

Laughing stock. Hand the keys back to the British with an apology note as Behan said.

Black plastic bags and various God delusions.

Says a lot about the state of humanity that despite all the technological advancements, it's actually quite easy to con people into believing absolute nonsense.

The RC Church used to murder people by burning them alive when they would use science to show that so many claims in the bible were garbage.

And yet people still support those terrorists and believe their claims of which they have no evidence whatsoever.

"But it's about belief" they cry.

Nah, it's about you being a gullible mug.

Unless it gets nailed by some rogue asteroid or something.

Astronomically unlikely, but you never know...

We've Voyager 1, Pioneer 10, 11 and New Horizons as backups. Likely all of them will still be around for many millions of years.

I would say eventually, that's the fate that will befall it,
Most likely still long long after we're all gone!!

Ah, "church bashing", the bit of propaganda the supporters of the RC Church's criminal acts use to deflect away from their litany of evil crimes.

Yea, erosion sucks. But do you think that something culturally important like the pyramids or great wall will be maintained by man until there is no one left? (as long as an earthquake or war doesn't destroy it first)

Am liking the suggestions of Nokia however. Especially as they have re-released it.... Maybe it will run & run & run
