I have to say the Starbar is hugely overlooked. I think its a prince amongst men.

Whats your favourite bar? Which do you hate?

    Toffee crisp all they way.

Picnic bars are just about the worst thing out there.

The Bounty is my favourite. Imagine my disappointment the first time I had real coconut and it was nothing like a Bounty.

Bournville Dark Choc bar is my fav, followed by Terrys Choc Orange.

    Hate the Lion bar!

I've gone right off chocolate bars in the last few years but I do like Kinder Buenos. Can't remember the last time I had one though. I like Lindt salted caramel bars too but I haven't seen them anywhere for a long time.

I wish they'd make Secret bars again.

Star Bar for sure. Totally under appreciated for some reason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 256 ✭✭buzzinfly83

Big fan of Wispas and Twirls too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Years ago I'd have said Dairy Milk hands down, with the gold foil and all that. They've messed around with the chocolate so much now it's nothing near to what it was.

Starbar is criminally underrated, the Boost isn't a patch on it, Moro, wasn't close either.
Double Decker and a cup of tea can't be overlooked either, but Starbar is a star bar.

Duplo or Hanuta, but they're not available here.

From what's in the shops here, I'd say picnic or snickers maybe. I also like Kinder Bueno, but find it too expensive for what it is.

Can't stand nestle chocolate, it's pure muck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,901 ✭✭✭Gunslinger92

Moro, or as they're now known, boost.
    Twirl
    Galaxy cookie crumble

A wispa or twirl from the freezer = bliss!

I love me a Twix. Particularly dunked into a hot cut of tea. Lickety Lickey!

    Whispa

Starbar is by far and away number 1.
(And by extension its poorer cousin the Boost)

Honerable mention goes to the often maligned Picnic, which is a fantastic chocolate bar.

Also, Topic are quite nice despite only having one on the rarest or rare occasions.

No-one can hate chocolate. it's impossible.

I'm in a Twirl phase right now. Yummy things.

Kit Kat Chunky (white or the new Cookie Dough are best...If there's ever an orange variant I'll be in heaven!)

    🤪

    200g bar of Galaxy.

Have one in the fridge now and it has only 11 hours left on earth.

I also love a Tiffin. They are gorgeous.

    Yorkie - Biscuit & Raisin

Cadburys Top Deck. Why have you left us?

Ritter Sport Coconut. Have only had it a couple of times, but they were glorius times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

Standard Galaxy bars or Ripples. Cadbury's Flake a close third.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,596 ✭✭✭hairyslug

Dime/daim bars and the much forgotten Moro (needs to be eaten with a cup of tea)

    Ive a few favourites.

    Wispa
    Crunchie
    Caramello
    Dime

I love those new malteasers teasers bars.
Also can't beat a bit of milky bar. They used to make a chunky one which was delish.
Loved mint crisps and golden crisps too, haven't seen them for years though.

    Scrumdiddlyumptious bars

Flake Praline - haven't seen them in years though :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,506 ✭✭✭Doctor Nick

Star bar definitely. The odd flat Aero or Frys chocolate cream. Cadbury Caramel. Yorkie plain. (I don't actually eat much chocolate so surprised at the list)

Actually, the fact you can't get a multipack of Star Bars pisses me off big time. They vary in price so much - my nearest shop (Spar) charge a whopping €1.80 whereas a bit futher down the road they're €1.

Moro, or as they're now known, boost.
    Twirl
    Galaxy cookie crumble

Hang on a minute, we can't just ignore this.
I was most definitely under the impression that Moro and Boost, were similar but different bars.

Bounty were designed by Satan himself. I hate all things coconut, and it's snuck in everywhere, (not unlike coriander and olives in other food-types)

Just about to crack open a Double Decker. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,554 ✭✭✭valoren

I used to love Cadbury Mini Eggs

Got some recently, and they seem very 'off' taste wise. No longer moreish.

In terms of hating stuff, I've despised Cadbury Creme Eggs since I was young. Disgusting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭GBX

Moro or boost as they are now. Followed by yellow Snack or Snickers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 65 ✭✭YourSuperior

I could/will never choose a favourite. Never. That would be like choosing my favourite -- non-existent, btw -- children.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 90 ✭✭MadamRazz

What on earth is a Starbar and why have I never heard of them before.

Favourite would be a yellow snack bar or those little animal bars. yum.

Dislike, cadbury creme eggs (they make my nose itch) and any bar with raisins in them

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,203 ✭✭✭Parchment

Moro was always around - then the Boost arrived (WITH GUARANA!! - no longer with guarana i think). The Moro is dry in comparison to the Boost. I was a HUGE Moro fan then moved to the Boost as its less claggy to eat.

But the Starbar is the thoroughbred of this ilk of bars. With the Picnic getting an honourable mention.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,336 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

    Caramac
    Crunchie
    Moro
    Snickers
    Caramello
    Kinder Bueno
    KitKat White

    In no particular order.

I sound like such a fatty on this thread. I'm drooling.

Yorkie. But it used to be Double decker. And before that it was Mint Aero. That came just after an ordinary dairy milk love in.
