Lotd of injuries and terrible form in these games make it a tricky one for Liverpool. Stoke are on a terrible run though, 1 win in 6, 3 losses in a row.

Confirmed #LFC team to face @stokecity: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Matip, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Alexander-Arnold, Woodburn, Origi

#LFC substitutes against @stokecity: Karius, Moreno, Grujic, Sturridge, Firmino, Lucas, Coutinho

3 at the back for Liverpool it seems, with wing backs. Alexander-Arnold and Woodburn start.

That is a very poor starting XI.
Is Coutinho still sick or what's the latest problem?

    Bizzare selection from Klopp.

I think he's making a statement here, telling under performers that they are not good enough.

Still a bit sick, not able for 90 anyhow it seems. No idea why Firmino is on the bench. Perhaps he has it too?

When kloopp shakes it up, he really shakes it up.

I'm anticipating a one goal win for Liverpool with taa motm

Haven't been this surprised at a line up since Rodgers put that team out against Madrid.

The front 3 have no time playing together at all, looks like a preseason line up.

Very risky line up. Hopefully Woodburn & Trent have great games.

I'm not even sure we'll have a front 3, it's odd. Wijnaldum will play further forward, Milner centre, and Clyne/TAA will be the wing backs with Clyne on the left is a real possibility.

    Mignolet

    Lovren--Klavan--Matip
    TAA
    Clyne
    Can
    Milner

    Wijnaldum

    Origi
    Woodburn----

    Perhaps something like that?

I'm thinking Milner on the left, Clyne right and TAA and Woodburn either side of Origi.

All I know is that TAA will fire in crosses and that someone better be ready for them.

I know it's actually an indictment but I'm also happy to see what he and Woodburn can do as starters.

Firmino has the bug also, just not as bad as Coutinho

sO kLOPP IS trying to prove he was right to play 5 at back, and will start that way today .

I like it, we are parking the bus. I have no problem with that, but we're not away to Barcelona. Hope it comes off, Chelsea do it to Sunderland so it's not so wrong if it brings 3 points.

Holy God that is one experimental team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,449 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

    Shaquiri back for stoke.

    Could be a long day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,633 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Does this mean Milner is back up into midfield?

That's not what Klopp has just said.

Says he's tired and overplayed. No mention of illness.

No idea. Either him or TAA in there somewhere. We'll see in 20 mins I guess.

or maybe a diamond, Woodburn has played that at U23 and looked very good as it plays to his strengths. Matip can help Can as and when.

I actually like how we don't know how Liverpool are going to line up.

    Means the opponents don't either.

Been a while since that happened.

Just hope it doesn't backfire as Klopp will get a lot of criticism if this goes wrong.

We are looking to keep it 0-0 and adapt to the situation later in game.

I don't think we'll get battered. My fear is that we have a totally disjointed performance which will lead to a very scrappy game all round which might end in a loss with mistakes. I doubt we'll get totally overrun though as Stoke aren't in that type of place, but we could still well lose.

Why? Stoke have not been that good lately.

We're no way near as bad as people here try to make out.

3rd in the league you know!

Firmino's trip to Brazil might be a factor.

We wouldn't be 3rd in the league with that first 11 representing regularly.

    Chopsticktino Firmino is on bench.

Would be great to do a Chelsea here. I have faith in Orgi

Not at all i just think it's a bad excuse at this stage of the season. Liverpool have had one of the lowest number of fixtures in the league and he totally disregard a cup competition to keep them fresh.

Lots of players have been to South America. Valencia has been twice and is one of our most played players working a wing on his own.

TAA and Woodburns badly photoshopped photos in those Sky lineups. Hahhahahha

Ski Ports have Milly in midfield
    TAA right, Clyne left .

Doesn't mean individual players can't get tired occasionally, especially ones with the work rate of Firmino.

Danger sign there, great run by Shaqiri. Must have been close.

I wonder will we see any Mike Dean weirdness today?
