From the UK forums you can order the vrs... I like the headlight design but beauty in the eye as they say... I think it makes the front of car more interesting. I'm trying to hold out till after Easter to check with the dealer re build date..

I saw a high spec estate the other day and it looked well. I saw a basic one then and it looked rank.

I'm holding off ordering a new one because of the looks. I think it needs bigger wheels and The headlight upgrade to work.

The black grille works well on the split headlight I think. Chrome one not so much

I think it's a specific extra called Black design package I think. Seems to be only available for the vRS though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,076 ✭✭✭GustavoFring

On the current one the black grill was about €40 to buy and can be swapped over. I'd imagine it will be similar on the new one.

Wasn't the black grill, black door mirrors, etc part of a Challenge pack only on the RS?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,076 ✭✭✭GustavoFring

No, you can get all the challenge pack bits separately too. I got all the bits separately as I didn't like the black wheels. The grill and mirror covers are park of the black pack, about €50.

How much did the Octavia with sport line cost. I was looking at one yesterday and the sales man quoted me 28k and a bit of change for the 1.4 petrol. Did not get to drive it as I was in a hurry unfortunately.

Wasn't sure the 1.4 petrol was available in ireland... Would have considered it.. My car is almost 34k.. I added sportline which cost I think 1450 and also went for dsg box.2.1k.. I've also specified the canton sound system so it's actually 34.5..

Im getting black mirror covers with sportline... I must chat to salesman re black grill.. Any pictures of the facelift with chrome versus black grill?

The model he showed me was called Octavia sport line as an all in package. As far the petrol I told him it would be later in the year before I will purchase and he was basically was trying hard to sell it to me yesterday and maybe I miss heard him as I told him it was the 1.4 I wanted. I was offered instant loan approval and he seemed really pushed to get me to sign up. I also saw on some sites free servicing for 3 years but I was not offered that .
That car you have bought will be some ride when you get it. What color did you get and how much did canton sound system cost I would love that myself.

Went for the silver metallic.. The canton was 530.. The wait is killing me to be honest... When I bought my civic ordered on Saturday and had it following Thursday

Funny I looked at the new Civic on Saturday but the sales man did not have a price. I am sure it is a pain alright (waiting) but it will be worth it when you get it especially with all those extra toys to play with. The one I looked at was a black one with black and red trimed seats. I just could not get over how I was sanctioned a loan with in 10 minutes of entering the sales room it seems the Celtic tiger is back. In saying that my car was valued at 8k and it was one of those PCP loans he was offering at 0%. Were you offered free serving over a 3 year period as I said I saw it being advertised by another dealer. If I decide to buy I will consider the upgrade entreatment system love my music when driving.

Can i ask what dealer you went to? Skoda are only doing new model octavia at 1.9% finance... Unless something has changed in last few weeks.. Salesman said he could get me old model on 0% if I really wanted it..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 477 ✭✭blowin3

It was a Al Hayes dealership . Funny looking at the lights they were the old style not split like the new model. But this was being sold as sports line not a add on. Have a look at the Skoda website and look at their finance calculator and they are all showing 0% on loan.

Mid June for the vrs and scout according to skoda Ireland.. ..anyone interested in a 142 reg vrs estate .I'm selling it at the moment on done deal at 21250 Euro..not really sure about the new front on the new octavia myself.

Fourteen and a half to come up 2 and a half years, feck, Skoda's ain't the bargain they used to be!!! I'd think that's savage money but maybe I'm just out of touch, I've all but given up on the chasing your tail car game tbh.

I think your out of touch a little. The days for trading up for relatively small money are well gone. 2014 to 2017 is 3 years in terms of trading up and depreciation so anything with an annual cost to change figure of under 5k would be good these days.

Ahhh I know that I was being a touch sarcastic, saying that, in 2004 I went from 1998 petrol Marea to a 2002 Diesel Octavia for 10,000.

Auto trader and the vrt calculator, the UK is your oyster. If i was in your position I wouldn't bother looking here for overpriced cars.

  • Registered Users Posts: 285 ✭✭butrasgali

On that vrt calculation site today.. top spec vrs 4x4 dsg and scout late 16 is about 5200 to clear..cost in or around 21000 sterling..saving about 5 to 6 grand on the same car over here..

There ya go!! Unless you have a specific need for the 4x4 version I wouldn't bother, they can be a bit troublesome and are thirstier too.

I thought these skodas were bullet proof... I will take a good look around and in the north as well..

As stated already, UK models tend to have a bit lower spec than the Irish equivalent. And unless you have a use for 4wd then it's a bit pointless given it will add to the VRT figure.

  • Registered Users Posts: 285 ✭✭butrasgali

Thinking of going caravanning so it might help..and always wanted a 4x4..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,585 ✭✭✭jca

Buy a proper 4x4 then, not an Irish "toy jeep"

Checked this morning and week 20 build. Thats May 15th to 21st. He will have shipping timetables next week but looking more like a June car at this stage. Getting harder to justify not waiting till July for it. Only complication is we are driving to France first week of July for 12 days. Not doing major distances. Dealer was eager to get my car before it reaches 80k km but not my fault it's taking so long for skoda to deliver. At 76.7k now.

Checked with dealer this morning. Week 20 build which google puts at May 15th to 21st. He will have shipping timetables next week but at this stage I'd say I will be doing well to have by end of May. More likely to be a June car I'd say which is making it harder not to justify waiting till July at this stage

I'm thinking of ordering the Octavia Combi Style with Sportline before the 0% APR offer runs out soon. Can't figure out exactly what it's going to look like though as the Skoda configurator doesn't include the sportline option. Anyone got one of the new facelift models with sportline yet? Am I right in thinking the wing mirrors, roof rack rails and front grill are all black? Does it include all the extras listed in the doc here

I'm going in again tomorrow to ask the dealer these questions but though I'd ask here as well in case anyone already has one?

The configurator hasn't been updated so I don't know.. I should have my sportline in stock by 10th of June so I can hopefully get pictures up sometime around then.. I'm not collecting till 1st of July though.. the dealer may or may not know.. the new facelift brochure doesn't show the sportline pack as an option at all

I'm still curious to see mine as dealer said it would include bi xenon adaptive headlights when im pretty sure they will be LEDs..
He also said it would be 17" hawk alloys... The other thing the sportline kit gives you is leather sports steering wheel - this is standard on the style model already so im wondering will I get something else!

Also I think the sportline includes steel pedals.. and footrest but again will need to wait and see.. its no use asking in the UK as their specs are completely different..

I'll let you know once mine arrives.. might be to late for the 0% as I think you need to order and register before end of july? With an 8 week build time (10 for me) that would be august delivery

Where is the doc you linked to from?

I'd be well happy if I get kessy :) It doesn't mention sports seats which im expecting mine to have...

    Sunset tinted windows

    Black door mirrors

    Rear lip spoiler

    Decorative foils

    Sports steering wheel

LED headlights with dynamic angle control

Ambient lighting (customisable interior lighting system)

KESSY - keyless central door locking with engine start/-stop

    function

    Foglights with corner function

    Telescopic headlamp washers

    Driver fatigue alert sysyem

On this page down the bottom there is 'Download in PDF' link. It does say in the pdf that the Sportline upgrade is €1950 but the quote I got from dealer it is called the 'Sport Pack' and is €1511 so I'm wondering if it is even the same thing? Like I said I need to go in and talk to them to see what exactly is included. One of the big draws for the Sportline package is KESSY so would certainly hope it is included.

The sportline pack for the style pre facelift definitely didn't include kessy.
I had the salesmans one on demo for two days.. it had over the pre facelift style rear bootlid spoiler, dynamic sports seats, bi xenon adaptive front lights, side skirts and sport steering wheel and the hawk alloys...

I paid I think 1450 extra for my 'sportline' when I ordered my facelift back in March.. not sure what ill end up with .. the salesman implied it would be same upgrades as the pre facelift.. the spec in the brochure you link to doesn't mention sports dynamic seats... id be kinda bummed if mine shows up minus them!

It's a bit strange you can't get detailed printout on what your car will include. I'd say the 'Sports Pack' I was quoted is same as what you ordered and not the 'Sportline'. Will be disappointment if it isn't possible to get the Sportline pack as detailed in the PDF. Will find out tomorrow and report back. I wonder if you don't get something like the sport seats could you go back and demand it be installed saying you were promised it?

Also dealer said as long as my deposit is in by end of next week I'll be good for the 0% APR. The wait is 10-12 weeks, is that how long you've had to wait? What colour did you go for?

I don't have a print out but now that you mention it I think he might have referred to it as a sports pack rather than sport line... not long to wait now till he has the car and I know for sure.. We really found the sports seats comfortable so those and the lights were the main reasons I went for it.. I had originally intended in going for standard seats and leather..

I went for the silver metallic.. ordered 15th of March.. im sure if you pay a deposit and agree 0% would be hard to change..  when I ordered the rate was 1.9% but they did agree to change down for me to 0% as my car hasn't arrived yet..

I certainly wont be happy if mine turns up minus sports seats and has kessy... not sure what the dealer solution might be to that..

    Hi all

Looks like some of your orders are taking a bit of time. I ordered the new RS the other week has been confirmed as build week 26 last week of June the dealer says I should have the car 3 to 4 weeks after this which sounded quick to me and sounds even more after reading some of the posts here.

Do you think this is realistic I was told needs to be registered before end of july for 0% Apr I presume dealer will honour if car is late.
