Is that happening this week? Where clocks go forward.

I heard a bit about it on the TV and I googled and it says it's this weekend.

I always thought when time changes, it's followed by a bank holiday. Is Monday a bank holiday?

It's happening on Saturday night and doesn't need to be tied to a bank holiday.
Monday is not a bank hoiday in Ireland.

It's so disappointing Monday isn't a bank holiday.

It probably just happened a few times before where it was the case time changed on a bank holiday weekend.

When the clocks go back in October, it usually (but not always) occurs on a bank holiday weekend.

    That's what you're thinking of.

It would never occur on the weekend that the clocks go forward in March unless the last Sunday in March happened to be Easter Sunday.

Is it next year or after that we'll get 2 hours upfront, an hour back, and hour again and it won't be changed from thence on?

The clocks are set an hour behind on the last Sunday of October and go forward an hour on the last Sunday of March. Nothing to do with bank holidays.

October Bank Holiday is on the last Monday of October and, so, is often the day after the clocks are set back.

I'm not a scientist but I believe that it's to prevent the world toppling over due to the extra weight of the small hands on all the clocks aligning with the equator.

I think we need a separate thread to discuss whether daylight saving time should be scrapped once and for all (as its never ever been discussed before)
