suprised there was no match thread.
Hopefully the players are chomping at the bit to get out there and that's there's a bit of a bite to proceedings today.
We, as in Liverpool, really need to make the most of this today as it's the last top 6 team we're to play.
City will have a point to prove too! Could be a good game.

Liverpool against a top six side. We all know that they are going to turn up, play like demons and get something out of the game. City are poor at the back but I'm not convinced that Liverpool will get the win; wouldn't surprise me though. I'll go for 2-2. After the Everton game, next up, they have a great run of fixtures, on paper, so they'll probably drop points left, right and centre. :D

    2 shambolic defences...should be goals.

I have a feeling this will be a big win for City. Something like 4-0.

    4-3 either way.

I'll take a humdrum, no-scares 1-0 win right now, thank you very much!

Fun Bobby starts. Yaya Toure starts I think.
onfirmed #LFC team to face @ManCity: Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino

No defence at all in that City teams, there's goals in this for Liverpool anyway, probably some for City too.

Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino

    Good news for City there.

This better not be a draw. I want to see a club in crisis.

Usually when 2 teams with poor defences come up against each other and goals are expected, it will be a tight game with just the one goal separating them

I'd normally agree but he did manage to keep Aguero from having a shot on goal all game in the reverse fixture.

    Liverpool will win this.

I hope it's not a repeat of that affair. Great cure for insomnia that one.

Couldn't care less so long as the result is the same. If Liverpool score first I wouldn't be surprised to see it, this City team are set to attack and don't really have anyone to defend them from a break away.

Liverpool unbeaten against the top 6.

Last game against the top 6, have to hope to maintain that record.

Liverpool not keeping the ball well enough when we they win it.

Need to be more efficient in possession.

Sterling doesn't know the offside rule clearly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,151 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    Firmino wins the ball there

Yeah nothing in it, Matip hand on Aguero's chest but no push or anything.

Eh yeah, it was a wild tackle. Blatant yellow and I'd send him off for having the temerity to appeal :P

Yup. If it was given against your own team you'd feel it was extremely soft.

City on top, should be ahead.

Lucky to be 0-0, fullbacks need support.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

    Should have scored

If City started their first half on Wednesday like this they may still be in Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,151 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    That's a ****ing red

    Should have scored

Very hard one to take like that but should have hit the target at least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Can has been great so far, won so many tackles already in their half.

Firmino and Toure both on yellows, similar offences?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

    Micheal Oliver is the ref?

I'm sure if he sends anyone off it will be justified. :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,151 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    City lucky twice.

Firminos was a bit of a jumping lunge from behind, got the ball but still deserved a yellow.

Toure kinda caught Can on the shoulder with a kick when they were both on the ground.
