    Tweaking mooring configuration.

    Add a few feet of chain between the hoop in the tyre and the first shackle it should be fine.

    This is what I'm thinking, you could sink the hoop a bit deeper so it's just a half circle above the concrete.

    Eliminate chain clamping to obstruction; in conjunction with chaffing.


    Issues: Re: Attached Image.

    (1) Specification buoy/float to lift bottom chain: (for size and length in photo 1 attached.)

    (2) 3/4 inch line connecting chains: Splicing essential or bowline with stopper?

    (3) 9mm 3 strand polypropylene mooring rope?

    Any knots that will suffice for purpose of attaching mooring chain to rope?

    I would like to learn how to splice... is it simply a matter of french platting one rope into another then burning it at the end?
    ?
