    And Day 4... Given the date, it has to be "The Day of the Irish"!

    In with Landofhopeandglory @14-1 in the first. Money back as a free bet if it loses.

    Drying ground should help and I think that this ex-flat recruit coud have too much pace for the rest. Was close to antepost fav for this too if Im not mistaken.
    Last run was on horrid heavy ground so im putting a line through that run.

    Hoping Puppy can Power him home.

    Im also on Minella Rocca ew at 50-1. With the vibes from Mullins yard about their Djakadam though I might include him too.

    Wait For Me in the County. Backed antepost at 25-1. Didnt think it would get in to be honest. This horse has a feather weight. It was 3rd in Moon Racers bumper 2 years ago, 4th in this race last year when fav for it. Granted he is a cliff horse for me but I honestly think that there is a big handicap win in him. Hopefully its tomorrow.

    Ive Death Duty in a few multiples, but they are not amounting to much at this stage. Might go for a good single bet on him.

    Ive On The Fringe in some multiples (4-1) so happy to watch.

    No opinion in the last 2 races although Arthur Moore's Dandridge is catching the eye all week.

    Could do with some better fortune tomorrow.

    Third time lucky for Djakadam. Price dropping further and further

    Drying ground? Is it not supposed to rain overnight?

    Taking a chance on Champagne West. Thought he was really good in the Thyestes.

    Agree I think 9/4 is a great price. Can see this gooing off 6/4 or shorter.

    Have had a decent bet at 9/4 and doubled with On the Fringe

    400 Squidleys

    200 e/w on Cue Card

    I'll be a hero or I'll be slated :D

    Only bet of the day.

    The County
    have backed 3 in this.

    Put up Mick Jazz on Tuesday after Labaik won. That form looks very good. Still think there is some value in the 9s available.

    Wait for me looks value at 18s 1 pt win

    Court Minstrel looks a very big price at 40s. Tumbling down the weights and if can produce anything near its best will go close. 1 pt ew.

    Albert Bartlet.
    Death Duty. That is all 9/4 a gift.

    Triumph
    landofhopeandglory. Hoping the ground brings about some serious improvement high class flat horse and hopefully can run well. 2pt win(use the offers with skybet and betway)

    Gold Cup.
    Not a notion what will win probably wont have a bet. If you had a gun to my head Djakadam.

    Foxhunters
    On the fringe at 7/4 looks decent value will go off shorter.

    Martin Pipe.
    Castello Sforza. By Milan and should improve for the drying groung. Could be thrown in off this mark. 14/1 looks decent value. 2 pts win.

    Grand Annual.
    TBD

    I've been sweet on Djack for a while. Lot of studying to be done but will probably bounce doubles off on the fringe and Djack.

    Sweet on Mick jazz. Very sweet.

    The world's end to topple death duty.

    Been a rotten festival punting for me so far. Had a lot riding on Squouateur today at AP prices and got stuffed.

    Few for tomorrow:

    Friday
    Triumph Hurdle
    => Landofhopandglory €5 ew @ 18/1 Bet365

    County Handicap Hurdle
    => Wait For Me €10 ew @ 18/1 Bet365

    Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle
    => Monalee €10 ew @ 8/1

    Cheltenham Gold Cup
    => Native River €5 @ 33/1 Bet365

    Foxhunter Steeple Chase
    => On The Fringe €20 @ 9/4 Lads

    Conditional Jockeys Hurdle
    => The Storyteller €10 @ 6/1 Bet365 NR
    Think I'll just watch this one now

    Grand Annual Chase
    => Solar Impulse €10 ew @ 40/1 Bet365
    => Croco Bay €10 ew @ 50/1 Betfair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,413 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

    Decent sized lucky 15: Charlie Parks, Death Duty, Native River, On The Fringe.

    Few quid each way on Artic Fire @ 25/1 hoping class can overcome the big weight. The fact PP are paying 1/4 odds on 5 places kind of reeled me in.

    Will only back on the last two if I'm up a bit tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

    Only AP bet for tomorrow is Djakadam at 4/1 placed last week, 3rd year in a row backing so hoping it's 3rd time lucky here

    Have just done a small €10 double on

    Defi Du Seuil
    Death Duty

    Not too sure where else my money will go at the moment but perhaps a punt on Coo Star Sivola in the 16:50

    Hate the Friday of Cheltenham

    Always a poor days racing, worst of the 4

    Tizzard's horses in rotten form

    I think Djakadam is far too short in the betting. Twice second the last two years, and was very poor in the Lexus chase where he was 5/4f. I think he should be at 5/1 for tomorrow's Gold Cup. 3/1 is a bit too short.

    I think the Walsh/Mullins four timer today is driving him in, plus Willie is saying he's better prepared this year than any of the last two. Djakadam is a great stayer, but seems to lack the burst of speed over the last furlong or two, which is what he'll need tomorrow as it'll be tight.

    If Cue Card performs like he did in Ascot, I'd say he'll win. He fell last year, when he was going very well, and ran a cracker to win the King George in 2015. Native River is very much an unknown, but showed great stamina at Newbury. All in all, it's going to be a great race with nothing separating the leading three in the betting.

    But Outlander and Sizing John can also spring a surprise, so dismiss at your peril.

    Paul Nicholls has had an utterly wretched festival too, but hardly surprising given the general decline his yard has been in. Having said that, he could yet surprise in the grand annual tomorrow. Le Prezien looks incredibly well treated at 13/2 to me, so I have had a few quid on.

    I have no information on this but i think Tony Martin is having a tilt at the conditional jockeys race with Ishothesherrif..
    Came back after two years and Davy Russell still had a good bit of horse under him going to the last against camlann and was very sympathetic to him after that, great performance after so long of and should just leave him right for this with a good jockey in Shane shortall,was 50s,16s is about best you will in the shops now.

    Lucky 15 and ew accum wakea. Native River. Death duty. Ishothesherrif

    Outlander for me tomorrow in the big one. Was happy with his Lexus win and I don't think it was a fluke. Outstayed them so no issue with trip.

    Augusta Kate would have best DD (snigger) lto imho so definitely taking him on with the mare. Though I like Monalee too.

    Rock the World in the lucky last. Backed him last year and laid out for this again, like others. But think tomorrow is his day.

    Looking at Ruby on Renitti lto. You'd be mad not to have a few quid on it. Rancid ride. Value gone though.

    Enjoy. Will be watching the last days racing from The Europe in Killarney. Up the Dubs!! Ha

    Imagine as i have said for ages backing a handicapper for the Gold Cup the idiots will make a case but i love idiots.Native River is a bog horse and could never ever win a Gold Cup it's hype by the unintelligent.Cue Card is a lovely horse but won't stay and his jumping is dodgy, but a very nice horse.Bristol De Mai wins if the rain arrives.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭sting60

    Nicky Henderson "Might Bite is so good he should have run in the Gold Cup 3.2 m would have suited his ability,a brilliant horse".

    Was trying to avoid BS’s site as it tends to freeze under any high traffic.
    But they’ve (currently) got some of the best prices (not best places), along with a few moneybacks on singles for Friday.

    With typical (average array) Accumulator odds in the region of 54454842/1 for the below 6+1.
    A selection of singles along with low-stake Four-folds e/w from seven is more practical.

    1:30 - Landofhopeandglory @13 1/5 3pl
    2:50 - Monalee @9 1/4 3pl
    2:10 - Mick Jizz @9 1/5 5pl

    3:30 (NAP): Minella Rocco @17 1/4 3pl
    3:30 (NB): Sizing John @9 1/4 3pl

    4:10: pass.
    4:50 - Coo Star Sivola @13 1/4 4pl
    5:30 - Upsilon Bleu @34 1/4 4pl

    Optional multiplier(s): Golf (AP):
    A couple of selections from up near the top of the R1 leaderboard. With only 20%c of the field under par, seems a good time to get some -5 & -4 at double digits, 1/4 4pl.

    DEFI DU SEUIL (@ 9/4 - 1:30) looks good to me. This run in December was really impressive considering there were some jumping mistakes towards the end of the race. Still clocked an impressive time for the going and seems a class above most of these.

    IVANOVICH GORBATOV (@ 4.7 BF 4-PLACES Market - 2:10) doesn't have Geraghty on board today obviously but surely a repeat of anything close to the run at Fairyhouse in December means at least a place here. 7/2 in the 4Place betting on Betfair right now. Have to have some of that.

    BRISTOL DE MAI (@ 5.9 on BF 4-PLACES Market - 3:30) DJAKADAM would win if he could produce what he did last year but looking at his win against Outlander I just don't think he's the horse he was. Would love to see CUE CARD win but distance a slight worry as is his age. For me the bet of the race is BRISTOL DE MAI. His win at Haydock where he sauntered to victory is exceptional form. There are some genuine reasons for the poor display next time out at Newbury, the race came too quick I think and Nigel says the horse returned lame that day also. I feel he has a squeak at winning this, let alone get placed... but I'm just going a small on the win nonetheless and get stuck into him in the BF 4PLACE market instead. Easy money.......... I hope.

    Best of luck with your bets folks, have a good one!

    Not to mention the terrible form of his trainer. It has been brought up a few times this week that there was a virus in the yard that NTD and Fergal O'Brien share.

    Interesting trend in the county , no horse with an OR >140 has won over the past 10 years. Dominada at 40/1 looks a nice e/w bet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,107 ✭✭✭HarshOstrich

    Bristol de mai's win at haydock is not exceptional form, the horses in behind are far from graded animals.
    I've been with native river all along but I feel the ground has gone against him, I look back at cue card form last year at Cheltenham when he was going well and at aintree when he destroyed djakadam and have decided to go with him.
    I think Bristol de mai will be pulled up and that djakadam will never look like winning but still place.

    Not the greatest day yesterday but Percy saved the day. UDS was epic yesterday, one to jump off the chair at for such a performance.

    So to today:

    1.30 Landofhopeandglory
    2.10 North Hill Harvey and Ivanovich Gorbatov e/w
    2.50 Augusta Kate - the value when compared to Death Duty
    3.30 Djakadam & Sizing John - if the rain doesn't arrive, Sizing comes into it big time
    4.10 Sweet as a nut but hope On the Fringe does the treble
    4.50 Castillo Sforza
    5.30 Sizing Platinum

    Due to the chance of the rain arriving, my bets might chance but as its 'Good' now, it would need a fair bit to change the going.
