Help with logo design

    Hi all.
    I'm looking for help with a logo for a video production company.
    It will be used at the start of all videos uploaded to social media etc so would need to lend itself to being animated as a possibility.
    I have used a logo design company previously and found there was a lot of hot air blown to justify the price etc. I ended up with a logo that was mediocre at best but it did the job.

    What is the best approach to avoid all the stress and bullsh1te that seems to be the norm for these companies. Should I approach college students etc.
    Not looking for a freebie etc just want a hassle free experience and hopefully a kick ass logo as the end result.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
