In the USA you can get Halo Top ice cream which is apparently quite nice and only 280-350 calories per pint of ice cream which compares well to the 1100ish you get from Ben and jerry's..

    https://www.halotop.com/

In the UK a similar product is called Oppo ice cream.

    http://www.oppoicecream.co.uk/

What can we get in Ireland that is comparable?
Anyway of getting the oppo ice cream shipped in from the UK?

2 scoops of HB vanilla is also 85 calories like the Oppo brand linked above and you won't have that awful Stevia aftertaste : )

I know there are sugar free diabetic icecreams available and some of the dairy free icecreams are a bit lower in calories if that helps. I don't know what the calories are in Nobo as I dislike the taste and texture but they market themselves as being somewhat healthy so might be a good place to start?

Nobo made me throw up. I'm not sure what's in it, but it didn't agree with me. :(
Solero bars are nice, about 85 calories per bar

I bought a tub of delicious lemon sorbet in Tesco the summer before last. Dunno if they still do it. Was 74k ( -0.1g of fat ) a scoop.

Frozen yoghurt all the way. I'm probably in the minority, but I just about prefer it to ice-cream! Soleros are fro-yo instead of ice-cream and they're delicious. Plus it's soft straight out of the freezer.

Tried the solero, quite nice, and only 93 calories, thumbs up.

I’ve recently discovered homemade banana ice-cream. It’s pretty easy to make at any kitchen. Ripe bananas blend with milk and yogurt (should be not too liquid, like a melted ice-cream) add some vanilla and cinnamon and freeze. Tastes great!!

Is that going to be any different from regular ice cream nutritionally speaking?

    Less ice cream.

Obviously less calories from fat and no refined sugar since proper ice cream usually consists of double cream, whole milk, eggs and sugar.

I sometimes make banana nice cream if I want something that faintly resembles ice cream but is a bit healthier:

Same here with Nobo, think it was the coconut in it. It didn't make me throw up but I feel sick for a good while after. Things with coconut in them (used instead of milk) don't seem to agree with me. Yet I can eat rice and kidney beans (in coconut mik) fine without a problem.

Yeah, it was very strange. I wouldn't consider myself as having a sensitive stomach, and I cook a lot with coconut milk with no issues. But I got sick straight after eating it. Bleh.

I love nobó ice cream, I ate a whole tub of the salted caramel in one sitting recently, the shame.

If you make it without the dairy and use something else to flavour it like coffee, vanilla etc you can make it very low cal while still tasting good, you can make it as decadent as you want
