    Hey guys,
I'm part of a newly formed kayak club in Cork and we were hoping to all go and do the liffey descent this year. I just wanted to know if there is any prerequisite to enter? A few people have told us that it's all about participation and good fun and to go for it. A few more have warned that it's a fairly hard run and to make sure all the kayakers we bring are up to a very good standard or they might not be allowed participate.
Could you please shed some light on this for me?

    Many thanks in advance

The above advice is correct though its a touch more than 90% flat water.
