Half of the old users are banned

So when you look through older threads you see that 50% of the users are banned😩
Maybe the problem is not the users, it's the overzealous administration of justice on the forums.
Like for example in the United States of America 1/3 of the population goes to prison at least once in their lifetime so on boards it's around 1/2.
I believe that the administration of justice is too harsh and should be changed. Rules relaxed. It feels like we have no freedom of speech anymore and you need to be very careful of what you say otherwise you are getting the ban hammer.

If you want to be able to say whatever you like about anybody you like, then start your own blog.

Yes, but on boards we have a bigger audience which can see more of our views, no point if no one will find my blog. I do not have finances to advertise it.

So the point is that you can say what you want but you can't make people listen?

Everything is possible. German people listened to Hitler too at the time and now he is considered pure evil yet he was the hero of his time in Germany during the ww2 period

Yep. I see the need for rules and boundaries but it's too easy to find yourself with an infraction on Boards. Sometimes it looks like a biased Moderator would let certain things pass if they seem to like or agree with the poster, and infract other posters for a similar breach. There are lots of rules to remember.

I generally don't care who is banned or why. I find nostalgia for other posters to be rather trivial on a discussion board. Either you get involved in it or you don't.

That is why extremely strict vetting procedures need to be implemented. Also there seems to be a case of more chiefs than soldiers. By that I mean half of the users are mods which means to much power for too many people.

    Alternative facts:

    1/3 of Americans are stoopid

1/2 the comments on boards and indeed the wider internet are borderline trolling

Twitter, thejournal (famous for it), YouTube.... its rife with things that these people wouldn't say in real life

Yet Twitter and YouTube are one of the most popular sites in the world. Reddit too which has little censorship? Anyone taking notes? See the pattern? The only reason I am here because the site is Irish if there was an alternative then I would be gone there ASAP. Like reddit

Write your blog and have a link to it in your sig. I'm sure you can afford that.
Do you know the best thing that ever came out of Wolverhampton was Slade.

I know Steve Bull was originally from Tipton but he's more of a Wolverhamton legend than Noddy (or Big Ears).

An unfortunate event to witness, a poor animal probably ran over with a motor vehicle.

More views on boards which means bigger audience will see the post as compare to my own blog

Run over by, you mean. And the badger being dead was not in itself an event.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can say what you like where you like when you like without consequences. Nor does it mean people MUST listen to you or platforms like this one MUST facilitate you.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I hadn't noticed how many mods there are but there's some interesting discussions about moderator bias and the level of moderator involvement in threads, in one of the Feedback threads. Not that I'm telling you not to post your opinion here.

I've been banned a few times. Few red cards but mostly yellow.

And I know someone who was banned for life from their most favourite forum so they set up a new one back in 2008. That person could have been me or maybe not. Had to write that as I was told on another forum that if you admit you opened a new account that you can be site banned again. May have or may not have been me.

I generally enjoy seeing moaners moan about bad moderating, and this is no exception.

I also think that a lot of the time, the people bleating loudest about freedom of speech have nothing to say.

Big difference between natural death and murder.
    Banning - murder
Natural death - moving on/close account

Hahaha, I am surprised I am still not banned, not looking to give any excuse which will hasten my demise but I believe it will happen sooner rather than later, I know how quick it is.
