US tax or Irish tax? The Embassy is part of the USA.

But the job is outside the USA.
The US embassy is a registered employer here in ireland and in cases like this will hire and pay you as an irish taxable employee. Although sometimes they will hire you as a 3rd party contractor which would be a pain in the arse for €14 an hour.

I think they only treat US citizens hired in the US for embassy roles as american tax employees. No double taxation.

If you send in your CV, make sure you get it spell-checked.

And be sure to set your MS Office dictionary to "US English"!

I would have thought €28,000 for a 25 hour week is good going on an admin level. Not many people I'd know would have such conditions unless, well....I could go on but don't want to be viewed as politically incorrect.

    It's not 28k for 25 hours.

If you are a brain surgeon - no.
If you are a bus eireann driver - even more no.
If you are a man holding a sign at traffic lights advertising the nearest takeaway - yes.

If you are a Luas driver - definitely no.

The security guard would be a better paid job and it has extra payments for weekend work.
