BBC to launch new BBC Scotland channel

    In a surprise announcement from the BBC today; They are to launch a new digital TV channel called BBC Scotland from Autumn 2018.

    It will be broadcast from 7pm to midnight every evening at a cost of £30 million a year to the BBC.

    A major move in the development of the channel will be the creation of a new hourly news programme at 9pm from Mondays to Fridays that will produced from Glasgow. It will air for 15 minutes each day at 7pm on weekends.

    BBC Reporting Scotland will remain as normal on BBC One Scotland when the new BBC Scotland channel is launched.

    I only got this from looking at the BBC News at Six on BBC News HD earlier this evening. I'll say fair play to them for doing so.
