I've just bought a 10 ford mondeo and I need the engine number. I was wondering where abouts the engine code is also would you see the engine number better from underneath the car.

The engine number would usually be in the reg book. Also on fords isn't it the last 7 numbers of the vin. Now if you want to verify that the original engine is in there fair enough.

    Which engine is it?

It's the 1.8 duratec engine. I bought it in the uk and I don't have the reg book yet. I have to send a form to Dvla and they need vin number and engine number.
