I currently have the armband on Hazard. With no Sanchez or Ibra this gameweek, there should be a big spread of captain choices.

    Lukaku most likely.

Although I did plan to take a captain punt on Alonso at some point and this could be the week.

Torn between captaining Costa or bringing in Lukaku for Zlatan for -4 and captaining him, decisions..

Mane or Lukaku for me. I was leaning towards Mane until I seen that 11 minute hat-trick video of Lukaku v Sunderland from last season :confused:

I should have stuck with my guns !
He scored one more than IBRA who I switched to

I actually have had it on kane since end of last gameweek
Problem is the guy top is an Everton fan and has captained lukaku last 2 weeks. He will only have 8/9 players this week so is near certain to captain him again

Was talking about this elsewhere recently. It never enters my head to play this way and making decisions based on mini league rivals.

My philosophy would be pick the player YOU think will score most. Get that right more often than wrong, and more often than your competitors over the course of the season and the mini leagues win will take care of itself. I'd say not everyone would agree and fair enough.

Only exception would be GW38 if you were protecting a lead.

Generally the way I play it too
Lukaku is probably the logical choice too though
    But it's lukaku!!!!

See. No. Those aren't great captain returns. Not one double figure explosion at home this season.

You're increasing the case for Lukaku for me.

Ditto, with those returns you'd be as well off captaining a Chelsea DF for example, hoping to get a CS and a bonus or 2.

IMO, if you're going to captain someone, you want them to be the highest scorer for the overall GW, not just getting a safe 12 (C) points.

    Lukaku to explode for me

Sunderland is the exact type of team Big ROM likes putting to the sword, it's a no contest for me.

It's consistent though which is important.

Lukaku had the 21 in his last home game(and I had the armband on him), he has also had two 11 pointers and a 12 pointer at home but he has had five 2pts or less weeks also at home.

I'm just pointing out the consistency of Costa and the fact he hasn't had that big week yet makes me believe that it can't be far away.

Yeah but for most I'd suggest consistency isn't what you want from a captain. You want explosiveness.

Costa might not usually be explosive but he does like to play Swansea.

17,16,2,12 in his 4 league games against them.

Yeahm. Knew he had a good record against them and it's a factor for me this week. Player form goes against him though. Very few shots last 4.

Going with Hazard as I took a hit to get him in (when if I waited til the FA cup games were played I would have got Mane) so I feel like I need to gamble on him making it worth my while.

Don't really fancy Lukaku and Hazard has excellent stats at home to teams in bottom half of the league.

Toss up between Lukaku and Costa for me, edging towards Costa.

Had a look at Hazard's home form this season too, pretty decent candidate - blanks against WBA and Hull his only real blemishes:

    West Ham - 10
    Burnley - 11

    Liverpool - 2
    Leicester - 8
    Man Utd - 8
    Everton - 19

    Spurs - 2
    West Brom - 3
    Bournemouth - 10
    Stoke - 5

    Hull - 3
    Arsenal - 11

If I had him, would definitely be captaining him this week. Instead I'll be hoping for another hat trick from big Rom

Gone for Costa. Need a big one from him as I can only field ten players. Think the next three gameweeks will go a long way towards deciding a lot of mini leagues.

    Voted Hazard.
Have Kane vc but Mane last up on Monday is tempting.
