Password Manager which works across multiple operating systems

    Hi all,

Hoping this is the correct forum to seek advice (if not, mods, please feel free to move).

Finding a way to encrypt and secure my passwords (for various apps &online accounts) has been something which I have wanted to do for sometime.... finding a programme/app which could create new passwords using randomised characters would be even better.

After recently watching this video from Vox (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xHSnHj-zKF4), the importance of using a password manager has been drilled home to me.

Thus, could anyone perhaps suggest some variation of a password manager which would work on windows, mac, iOS & android....

I've come across lastpass & 1Password.....but don't know much about what they're capable of doing.... or how reliable they are, etc.

Would really welcome guidance in this area as I'm quite the novice

    Thanks in advance everyone :)

I use LastPass, which works on a lot of different platforms and does all you ask ... and for free. :D

I like Lastpass, works on chrome on desktop, definitely has a decent android app, not sure about iOS.

Lastpass is free, sure give it a whack anyways.

Are there particular features you want? If has autofill of fields and addresses, password generation and is pretty solid security wise in my experience.

Two step verification locked me out constantly when my phone died, so I'm unsure how anyone else would get in

    Lastpass all the way.

Here's a comparison chart of the most popular ones.

Charts wrong, there are Keepass mobile apps for both variants.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for all your helpful replies - seems like lastpass has won by a unanimous verdict.

I will also check out keepass.

    Cheers everyone :)

Another vote for lastpass. Using it for the last 3 months and its very easy. I've changed all my passwords to long alpha numeric passwords and am no longer worried about forgotten passwords.

Debatable. The mobile apps are "unofficial" ports, meaning they're not managed by the same team as the core application. Of course, that's actually a big advantage of KeePass: it's open-source, meaning anyone can write software to interact with it. There are plugins or third-party apps to solve every one of the issues listed in the chart.
