The half brother of the North Korean dictator died suddenly in Malaysia while at the airport in Kuala Lumpur.
He was a critic of the North Korean regime, and had been living in exile since he was discovered trying to enter Japan on a false passport so he could visit Disneyland Tokyo,

There are claims he was poisoned by two women who injected him with poison at the airport before running away.
He is said to have went to look for help before dying quickly.
Family get togethers for the Kim family in North Korea must be extremely PC...

Kim Jong Moitie or Kim Jong Point Cinq?

Kim Jong Nam had tried to enter Japan in 2001 under the false passport with the name Fat Bear. Maybe he was fat and hairy, I don't know.
But he had been living in China and Macau ever since.

Kim Jong Un is said to have visited Disneyland Tokyo as a child, but they managed not to get caught using their false passports, maybe they used better names.

Well, if he behaved anything like the way his sister behaved on Big Brother, then I for one am glad he's dead.

Some in the media are saying needles or poison darts were used, others are saying he was sprayed in the face, then had his mouth covered with a cloth, which left him feeling ill before dying quickly.
Anyway it sounded more effective than the US lethal injection execution system.

Died from natural causes, most likely a heart attack.

Kim had no reason to want his half kin dead now all of a sudden in 2017. Not everything to do with NK has to be a conspiracy.

The dog story was not true, but he used the other but not on family members.

It was an uncle of his, Jang Sung Taek.

A man who had been heavily involved in the running of the country for decades. He was so well respected and experienced that he could have been seen as a threat to the young, inexperienced Un.

This half brother was an insignificant individual, disgraced and banished from the country. What would be achieved through killing him.

I remember he was been touted as a future leader in NK going back a few years ,maybe Kim seen him as a potential threat at some point

Enjoy the slightly retro, bonkers spy vs spy side of it, to be fair. What's the bets on an exploding cigar for the next victim?

Aw that's terrible, he must be heart broken. He looked so happy the other day letting off the nuclear missle.

Thoughts and prayers with his family.

No he didn't. He was poisoned by two NK female assassins using needles.

A man was murdered, but then it gets funny to a degree, as one of the people who took part in his death is saying she believed she was taking part in a prank, as part of a reality TV program.

Yep and the police have arrested a NK man in relation to it, see here. Wonder if he is going to talk or take the fall. NK claiming that Kuala Lumpur are colluding with outside forces who want to damage the image of the DPRK.

Such a great image and reputation to protect.

Some of the stuff attributed to North Korea is made up, I mean the feeding of the leader's uncle to dogs, but then some of the real stuff is equally as bizarre, and the image of the country is so bad, most things are believeable.

Stalin killed some of his closest allies all due to the extreme paranoia involved with being a tin pot dictator. There doesn't have to be any logical reason.

The story that keeps on giving...
A heavily armed special police force has reportedly been deployed at the morgue holding Mr Kim’s body after police said there had been an attempt to gain access to the facility.

According to The Times North Korea is thought to be behind the break-in.

Malaysian government has said VX nerve agent was used to kill him.

    That's a total surprise

Was VX gas not the fictional green stuff that was used in The Rock by the bad guys?

It exists and is absolutely vicious stuff
The most potent of the known chemical warfare agents, it is a clear, amber-coloured, oily liquid which is tasteless and odourless
Works by penetrating the skin and disrupting the transmission of nerve impulses - a drop on the skin can kill in minutes. Low doses can cause eye pain, blurred vision, drowsiness and vomiting
It can be disseminated in a spray or vapour when used as a chemical weapon, or used to contaminate water, food, and agricultural products
VX can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, ingestion, skin contact, or eye contact
Clothing can carry VX for about 30 minutes after contact with the vapour, which can expose other people
Official chemical name is S-2 Diisoprophylaminoethyl methylphosphonothiolate and it is banned by the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention

Wonder if it could be considered an act of war but then again alexander litvinenko suffered a similar poisoning in London

    Same stuff, not fictional.

We need Nicolas Cage on the case

People seem to find this funny story but at the risk of sounding like Donald Trumo,I think something really needs to done about North Korea.

Having their agents going around the world killing people with poisonous chemicals could be seen as an act of war by some.

I always assumed it was fictional because of how over the top it was in the film. Nasty way to go.

It is surprising that more people in the area were not injured from it. Especially the agents administering it.

I am also surprised at how poor CCTV is at Airports

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

The airport in Kuala Lumpur is going to undergo a cleaning process to remove any possible VX that may be on surfaces.

One of the women who handled the gas in the attack, suffered side effects and was vomiting after it.

They will have to look at anyone that was in close proximity to the victim including anyone the gave first aid,

Absolutely crazy that they used essentially a banned weapon of mass destruction to kill one man in a civilian airport

I bet the South Korean government are more than just a little concerned.

It is such a serious development.

Think it was already well known that NK had stockpiles of chemical weapons, it's just the fact that they used it to assassinate someone in a Malaysian airport that's "new".
