I think he's been a SF supporter since at least the last election?

I think 30 years ago Dermot Morgan said it best about eamo "I would hate there be another Civil War because you wouldnt know what side Eamon would be on day to day"

Eamon brought the fact to Chris Jon’s that the culture secretary in Britain has said she shares her netflix, and used that as stick to beat her with, shows that he is out of touch with the modern world. Don’t get me wrong the woman is a wagon but he was grasping at straws.

john Giles saying Bielsa was sold down the river by the owners for not bothering to buy more players.

it’s common knowledge bielsa rejected suggestions from the owners to sign more cover for the squad in previous windows. Its not surprising but god they are so out of the loop to the modern game.

It isnt derailing....it is one of Eamo's agendas.

The facts that have changed are the facts that we 100 years post War of Independence

I also dont want to pay for the sectarian cesspit that is the north until at least 70% of them dont vote for a party with sole objective of been sectarian

    Ryan is back....Ryan is back

    And yes it is HILARIOUS

He doesnt have long COVID but he cant remember his banking pin cause of COVID

What a dose. It should be put into the comedy section

This was everything we could have hoped for... Covid "felt like I had been in a car accident" and the episode punchline: "a very senior politician asked me" :-)

Just went back to listen to his last appearance. He's a gas man. Made out like he had just about survived a brush with the grim reaper.

But lads he was right once in Autumn 2020 or something wasn't he?

'There used to be some poster who would come on and repeat that every time Ryan was mentioned but even he gave up the ghost in the end.

Haven't listened to Ryan's latest escapade but surprised that Dunphy is still bothering with him.

I mean Long Covid is a real risk and no laughing matter for anyone unlucky to get afflicted that way but Ryan was too much.

No wonder you have nearly 20k posts when you feel the need comment on something you havent listened to and then expect people to pay for your contributions

Laptops forum as people there suggested it as making a poor choice on a 500 to 1500 euro or more laptop can be useful to avoid

Do you contribute anything useful to boards yourself?

I've listened to Ryan enough to know that he's long lost the plot.

But long COVID is not something that he made up either

It's been 3 weeks since the last installment and Covid numbers are rising. Rumours abound of unvaxxed, unmasked Ukrainians on the southbound Dart. Surely by now the Taoiseach has been on the batphone to The Ryan Project. This is not the time for negligence Eamo, to lighten all our spirits we need a new Ryan episode!

That was possibly me. I would have been a big fan of him for most of the pandemic. Thought he was bang on with most things but everything has changed since omicron and he refused to change with it. Couldn't stomach his latest episode.

think that I was thinking of another poster actually.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,145 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Pretty sure it's me you are referring too.

I used to stick up for him a fair bit too, felt that he was more right than wrong and called things that got him loads of flak, but that turned out to happen in the end.

But as the above poster has just said, the game changed with omicron and he doesn't appear to recognise that and tbh I haven't listened to any of his appearances in a good while.

Ryan had long long lost the plot since very early 2021 (January and definitely February) when he started changing the dates on his "projections" every episode

He was still calling for 5km and even 2km lockdowns in April / May 2021 as if vaccines didn't exist

Fionnan Sheahan's description last week of Catherine Martin's business class trips was pretty funny.

I think he is one of the stronger guests and helps that he isn't on very regularly meaning there is plenty of fat to chew on when he appears.

He's ridiculously biased though. Hates the greens, hates the shinners

It's now two months since the last The Ryan Project episode. Their mission was to inform and protect us (from Covid's "carcrash"-like symptoms reported by Tomas, a young healthy man). Today RTE reported about the 60+ symptoms of Long Covid, will the physiotherapists clinics be able to address all of these? Do we need to round up and vaccinate all the infants in order to prevent transmission?

But all we have is silence... Why oh why have Eamo and Tomas forsaken us so? Do they no longer care about granny at all?! lol

Been listening to it for the last two months now. Best contributors imo are Giles, Brady, Tallant, Fionan Sheehan, Chris Johns up to a point, Niall Stanage is not for me although I respect him.

Could listen to Dunphy daily but the podcast suffers from a lack of variety, like a previous poster said, it feels like American politics, UK politics & the Kinehans 90% of the time. Would be great if he could branch out into different topics a little more. Hes more than capable.

Hadn't listened to this in a while but stuck it on recently and it's riddled with ads, is this a new thing? What happened to tesco?

How long is on holidays for?? The same as the politicans?:) six weeks. Hes full of it sometimes but has a very good way of getting his points across even though sometimes he contradicts himself. He just seems very well suited to this type of work, pity his career in presenting TV shows didnt really take off.

3 weeks I believe - he usually shuts up shop at this of year. In fairness to Eamon considering his age he does well to churn out the volume of content he does for the rest of the year.

The Daily Mail today reports on new Long Covid UK ONS data which mentions a "dizzying array of symptoms have been attributed to long Covid, including: [...wait for it...] feeling sick".

OMG Eamo and The Ryan Project where is your humanity? You callous, cold-hearted, granny-jeopardising fans-of-the-scientific-method, there are people out there that are "feeling sick". Where are you in our hour of need? Surely there's some medication we should be mandated to take, please let it be so ;-)
