Didn't see any thread for this.

Could be an absolute belter of a game. Two exciting back lines so could see plenty of open running rugby.

I'll go with France by 5

Crap weather, just finished flicking between the ladies game and Connacht and the Kilkenny Waterford game....great day so far.

Now this game. Here's hoping for a game like last nights from Cardiff...I think France will win about 23-13 or similar.

I reckon Scotland will make them really work for it but I can see France sneaking a physically bruising game.

Some massive hits and clear outs going in already.

2023 on the French jerseys. Is that the first public promotion of their RWC bid?

    great start! linebreaks everywhere!

Huw Jones completely fluffed that. Was a handy interception.

    Helter skelter opening.

    Frantic start....lots of errors though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Should have been a stonewall interception.

Entertaining start anyway, hope they can keep this pace up.

That gather and offload from Fagerson was fantastic.

I wouldnt mind seeing that again alright, he had plenty of time to read it I think.

He looked like he was shocked he actually was going to receive that ball.

    7 pointer blown.

France scrum didn't look anything special there. Big players but didn't squeeze Scotland too much.

    That was brainless by Spedding.

Laidlaw is just too slow, spends and age with the ball and spends longer lookin at his own attacking line than what's lining up against him.

    Try for Hogg

Hogg.....wow, that was great! Great patience by Scotland.

This is a cracker so far.

I've criticised Cotter in the past but it's a shame they decided not to renew his contract. He's done a decent enough job there and he's only really starting to show how far they've come in the past 12 months.

I can't recall who was being interviewed but they said the feeling was that Townsend was always the man in waiting for the top job and the SRU were very conscious that it would be a disaster if he left Scotland to coach elsewhere so had to give him the job instead of renewing Cotter's contract.

I don't think Townsend will be able to do any better than Cotter and his introduction will break the progress that has been made under Cotter.

I'd feel sorry for Cotter......assuming that he would have stayed. He has certainly put Scotland in a better place.......lucky for Townsend.

This reminds me of an U10s game. Lots of endeavour but a bit helter skelter.

The talk was there were French contracts on the table for Townsend and the SRU panicked that they would lose their next in line for an indefinite period.

Laidlaw going off here might actually help the Scots.

If the Scottish player causes a turnover then why doesn't the France player doing a shove result in a re-reversal?

    Really silly by Price there.

Hogg always tries to get involved in the handbags.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,876 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Bad moment for Price but not costly in the end.

To be fair Lopez milked it a bit and if he hadn't the officials probably wouldn't have done anything about it.

No french players chasing the penalty kick, they teach that stuff at underage ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,876 ✭✭✭✭bilston

That try was fun to watch.

Ah that was a really good try for Fickou.

Nice try by France. Power and skill

Hogg...meticulous in attack, disinterested in defence. We'd be utterly hanging out Kearney or Zebo if they made that effort on their own line.

Poor from Hogg, but great patience from France.

The Scots are very petulant when it comes to the patronising after penalties are given away, good to see them penalised at the same time.
    Hogg made it worse really.

Serin is a bit frantic at 9. I think he has the makings of a very good player though. I just hope France don't do their usual of messing about with their half backs. With a bit of time and patience Serin and Lopez could be very good.

That was good defence by France.
