It'll be a tough game. Liverpool have been very poor lately, but they tend to turn up against tougher teams. And we don't have a good record there.

    1-1 i'd say.

Certainly won't be a bed of roses without Vertonghen & Rose. Rose is one hell of an athlete. Be down to Sonny. Demble and Wanyama are the fúcking muscle.

Gladly take a draw, it's Anfield after all. I know he's not played. But I'd rather have Edwards sitting on the bench than Onomah.

Pool will come out of the blocks flying, need to do the same. Neither team will get much time on the ball. Frenetic pace.

I'm going for a 2 nil win here. Alderweild and Kane to do the business!

Huge game, win and our paper thin title hopes gain a bit of thickness, but virtually guarantees Liverpool won't be a threat to a top 4 position (still in it themselves, but we won't be troubled by them). Lose and it's a top 4 dogfight all the way to the end with 5 teams going for 3 spots.

On form, there should only be one winner but without Rose and Vertonghen we don't look the same confident team. I would take a draw but, because it is Liverpool, I would be afraid we will find a way to balls this up and kickstart Liverpool's season again. That would be a disaster given the Thursday night football and cup football coming our way in the next few weeks.

Playing Liverpool away is always a dodgy game for us,I'd say most of us would take any kind of a draw..

    Anfield

A tough place to go and win a game

    Just ask Liverpool

If we go there and park the bus like the so called smaller teams have done recently then we have every chance of winning as Liverpool have really struggled to counteract this in recent months.

But we'll probably go there, try to out play them and end up loosing.

Lloris. Walker, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies. Wanyama, Dembele. Dele, Eriksen, Son. Kane.

    Mane v Davies...not good.

    Awful defending.

And again...absolutely laughable defense. Jesus ****ing christ.

    Ffs! Dier. That's piss poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,212 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

When Mane was thru for the 1st goal, why did Dier run away from play? Odd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,492 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

Davies is getting torn apart ffs!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,304 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Davis simply isn't good enough, especially against someone as good as Mane. Liverpool will absolutely hammer us if this continues.

Fuking Hell...best defence in the League???

    As for the passing.........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭tippspur

    Mane running riot.......

Spurs are gonna come out for de 2nd half.

We should have done what others have done to Liverpool recently. We are lucky its not cricket score yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

Shocking, disorganised, pathetic....league challengers me arse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Could easily be 4 - 5 down. Liverpool do look vulnerable at the back. Problem is, we've rarely been up in the attacking half.

I can take the loss, but gifting goals, I kinda thought we were past that malarkey. Play the same in the second half, massacre. Need to claw our way back as we did against City.

As Irish based spurs fans this fixture is 2nd only to Arsenal. They'd break your heart.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,212 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Passing is shocking. Been completely out played by a team that couldn't buy a win for 6 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 599 ✭✭✭09_09_09

I will take either Alli or Son off and put Nukodu on. His pace might come handy and he defends better than these boys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

Need new back up for Rose in the summer. Davies is no good and is so slow.

    Just a f**king embarrassment

Didnt buy into any title talk but the least we could do is perform against this shower.

Yupp Son not up to the job in the defensive part of the game.

Hopefully someone will give Davies a helping hand, poor from Pochettino & team mates to let that continue for 45 minutes.

Apart from first 11, we have feck all to change the game.

3-5-2 format should have used or pack the defense and counter. Poch made a blunder with his tactics. Lets see what he can do in second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,393 ✭✭✭MonkieSocks

Davies hsa two up against him every time Liverpool get the ball.

Dier has been our worst player today, not evening jumping for headers.. When they have a corner.

    Alli, Son, Kane, AWOL

We've done our usual "make Liverpool look like Barcelona" visit to Anfield I see. Unreal the way we continually get raped there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,393 ✭✭✭MonkieSocks

Arry could have been off for that nasty foul.

He needs to keep his head.

Bottled it again. Like watching spurs v Chelsea last Season. Can't handle the pressure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,212 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Yellow cards everywhere but at least there's been a bit of fight this 2nd half.

Well that was rubbish, Poch got it all wrong and our bench is muck. Goodnight.

You were pretty much on the money there.

Same here. Makes the defeat even harder to swallow

Liverpool thoroughly deserved the win, murdered in the first half. Especially when you gift soft goals away.

Easily the worst performance of the season, wakey, wakey. Move on to the next game. Worst outcome, we go third.

Ordinarily, a result like that would ruin my evening /weekend. But **** it. Spurs (poor) performances have stolen enough weekends off me

    /out

Watching that was absolute torture. I had an idea it would happen cos Liverpool were due a good result and us a bad one. Our next fixtures are all very winnable so hopefully we can cement a top four place.

For de last thirty years I would drown my sorrows with alcohol. Gave it up for de new year. Just have to suffer de reality of how sh1te that performance was. A man should not be sober on days like this!

To be honest I'd say its more important.

We have 9 very winnable games coming up. We'll get over yesterday's defeat and move on. COYS!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,304 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

The result isn't what i was most annoyed with, but with how sloppy we were. Dier and Davis were absolutely awful, and regardless of how much pressure Mane was putting on them, on that performance they are nowhere near good enough to be in the starting 11.

As above though, we are 2nd with a run of what should be easy enough matches, which we need to win most of them to secure a top 4 spot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 385 ✭✭GS11

The difference between Rose and Davies going forward and at the back is massive.

That's us def out of the title race, hopefully he plays strong teams in both the cups and we can at least get to a final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,959 ✭✭✭Glebee

We seem like adifferent team when Rose and Walker dont start together.
Davis just not good enough im afraid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,916 ✭✭✭Ormus

In fairness we have possibly the best full back pairing in the world. It's bound to be a major step down if one of them is injured. I still think that given a good run of games, Davies is good enough to get into most teams in the Premiership, but at the moment he is rusty and lacking confidence and is a liability.

We've now played all the top 6 away from home. If we can get the lads fit and find some form, we can win every game for the rest of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,040 ✭✭✭slegs

I agree with above. The performance was the most disheartening thing. It was the worst I've seen in 2 years. Nervous, wide open to be attacked, no threat.

But to be fair these performances are the exception for the last while now. We are in a great position in the table. Besides from Chelsea I would say we are best placed to get top 4 based on our next run of games. Having only 2 home games left against top 6 is huge at this stage.

Hopefully by the time we play Arsenal and United top 4 locked in as we haven't done well under pressure against the big teams (bar Chelsea/City home games obviously)

Who knows if we go on a really good run there may still be a title shout in May. Unlikely but I've seen stranger things happen.

I would like to see us go deep in EL and FA Cup to really test the squad. I think they need to find out who from the fringes is worth keeping so they can move this summer to strengthen if needed. If they don't find out they won't buy as we have seen from previous windows
