HEAR scheme

    Regarding a HEAR application, applicant meets the criteria for Income & Medical card and wonders if the father is a self employed taxi driver, would a taxi driver come under group 4 Socio-economic group ?? you would think that answer is readily available but cant find it anywhere. Thanks

    I know this is late for you but all the info is here in the CSO website. Taxi driver does not qualify in any way as it is in socio-economic group A, E or H depending if self employed, employee or own account worker.
    It needs to be D, F or G, and can change depending on the employment status eg if an employee (1,4) or self-employed (2).
    Can be a bit complicated. Nurses aid would not get it but care assistant would. Basically the same thing.

    Both your parents have to be members of the target groups to meet the indicator.
