Depends on capacity. If it's 35k, like Malahide can take, it won't sell out too quick.
Summer schedule is already jam packed

They are also playing belsonic in ormeau park Belfast on June 13 which will take pressure off the Malahide concert. Tickets are £49 for them in Belfast

    Hotel booked.

    Belfast £49...Dublin probably €89.50!
Will there be any pre-sale tickets, like with 3 when artists play the 3Arenea. I guess not?

It will not be 89, more like 60

I'll be very happy if you're right. But prices seem to be going up and up.
From your username I presume you were interested in Stone Roses last year- I paid €75 about for a ticket.

Kings of Leon playing the 3Arena, tickets- €85.50 & booking fee.

€70? Seriously, it's becoming a p*ss take in Ireland now.

    total and utter!
    Phil Collins- €89.50 to €144.

Comedians will be charging €40-€50 soon. In fact they (bigger ones) are charging about €40 I think.

Tickets for the other malahide gig with the 1975 is 50 so hopefully it will be around 60 for arcade fire.

I remember the stink when the tickets were near 70 quid for when they played 7 years ago in the 3 Arena (then O2 Arena).

They need to cover costs now they make nothing from records. 70 is pretty standard these days as I expect there'll be decent support.

How much does a record cost to make? Who paid for their last record?

Dublin is the most expensive gig of all the European dates. Must be more cost/fees involved to put on a show in Ireland.

Promoters greed has to be a big factor for Ireland too. And willingness of punters to pay silly money

70 euro? That's steep! And on a Wednesday evening too. I really can't see there being a good crowd at this at all.

I would love to see them again but those two factors are putting me off tbh.

Wud reluctantly pay it for a weekend but a Wednesday...No chance.

You have to figure that most bands lose money on making records these days. I've seen Arcade Fire in concert 6 or 7 times over the years but have never bought any of their albums (just streamed on Spotify).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 234 ✭✭breakfasttime

I'll be there. It's expensive but ultimately I love arcade fire and I don't really give a sh!t about the price. Looking forward to the new album which I'm hoping will be out before the gig ☺️

Gave in and just got tickets

Where do people recommend staying in malahide?

Think I'll be giving this a miss. Really couldn't get into Reflektor at all and the new stuff sounds the same. Also wasn't that impressed with the Marlay show the last time they were in town. Add to that a Wednesday night and 150 quid for a pair of tickets.

Agree on Marley Park. Was very poor. But new album will be out before the gig so can't knock the new stuff until then

Gas, I only went to Marley to see pixies. No interest in arcade fire. Pixies were woeful, AF blew me away. The bar must be really raised high for AF! Hopefully I'll see them in malahide.

I think the Marlay Park gig, like too many (? most) gigs these days had too many selfie-takers and people more interested in chatting than getting into the music..

Atmosphere up front was good, but going back to the bar, it seemed half the people were disinterested..
I wasn't at the Stone Roses in Marlay, but reports were similar
(plus I think the volume there seemed way too low - I won't be retuning if it can be avoided)

I was pretty far back which was likely my problem. I have seen a handful of really exceptional Arcade Fire shows so the bar is set pretty high alright.

They'll put on a great show in Malahide I'm sure but will depend on the crowd and new material probably. Hoping it'll be excellent

I've been keeping on eye on Dublin Bus, Dart etc and can't see them advertising transport for this. Has anyone any idea if there's extra services from the city to Malahide?
