The biggest problem with that breakfast is there's no rashers!

I'd be sending that sh!t straight back.

I always reckoned it started with a typo on an order for a stock of plates.

Because instead of using a dishwasher, restaurant Staff can just wipe the slate clean. :pac::pac::pac::pac:

Food of slates sounds painful. Food off slates is hugely irritating.

I've had breakfast cooked on a shovel but it was on the footplate of a steam engine. Delicious it was too.

Only saying it at the weekend when I recieved a steak on a slate. Didn't realise it was slate til I started cutting.

My teeth nearly fell out of my head with the shriek.

No rashers, no pudding and only one sausage! It's not the full Irish that's for sure. Keep the eggs and half the beans, then bring the rest of the breakfast.

The shovel is really the least of the problems with that "breakfast"

Just bring the pig into the room and lock the door on the way out.

The culinary arts are home to some of the most pretentious tosspots on the planet. What other possible explanation could there be for this nonsense?

I've never seen food made of slate served anywhere OP. Where do you get it?

    Breadboards are worse,
How do they clean the wood?
I Imagine it soaks up all the water and sh*te they clean them with.

I hate this sort of nonsense.

I was somewhere recently and got a fish and chips. The chips came in mini deep fryer basket. The most awkward meal I had in a long while, tables were small, and we all had these mini baskets and there was not enough room to put them on the table. You couldn't eat with the basket on the plate either as it got in the way of everything else. Who ever thought this was a good idea.

Last time I asked for food on the slate I was told to feck off and pay like everyone else!

It's kinda objectionable in a like an amusing Facebook or Twitter post about it once, but expending much energy getting worked up about it seems somewhat pointless.

OK, I've just seen the picture of the food in a pair of Birkenstocks.

    Dismiss above post.

In a place I used to work we had to serve the homemade lemonade in jam jars, I once had an offended brazilian family tell me to take them back and give them glasses as jam jars were for poor people

I had soup served in a bread bowl recently. Very nice it was, ate the entire bowl afterwards too, like a little savage.

I had cheese and broccoli soup served in a flowerpot a few weeks ago, it went cold while I talked about how notiony it was. I hate anything served on slate, the fear of the sound stops me from putting food on my fork.

The breadbowl is common at Christmas markets where I am and actually handy and tasty imo

I especially hate when you are served something that comes with a sauce on a slate. Makes no sense.

I don't understand the abandonment of crockery. Plates are fit for purpose, a design classic.

I'm all for the breadbowl, twas yummy and I'd look forward to it again.

Not so much the flowerpot, but since they started serving desserts in teacups it was only a matter of time before it happened. :(

I disagree, a bucket is better for chips than a plate.

The soup breadbowl is very common in the States, particularly for chowder, for some reason. I've seen it in a few different places over there.

No! Because I only eat select chips, I need to pour them out somewhere so I can make informed choices!

And you need to be able to see other peoples fries so you know which ones you want to steal when they're distracted.
