They switched to robotic cameras supposedly. Either that or they hired the BDO camera man

Spineless from Lewis, Barney really has his number.

Would have been lovely to see Barney take out 170 but that's a sweet win regardless.

Ando is up for this one.

    Love it.

Gary and MVG already in the mood at week 1. Super stuff

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Some magic moments from both. Draw probably fair result. Thought it was going to be a typical MVG demolition but Gary came back super strong after a sluggish start.

    It's terrible lately!
Bristow was the main spotter until he was fired before xmas, really noticeable though imo

I thought Deller was still the spotter. It was bad tonight. The zoom in for the 180s when the second dart went in the treble was different. More dramatic or something.

Little Richard Ashdown, Eric Bristow and Kieth Dellar did the spotting

16 nights in total. Too long altogether.

Have they quietly brought him back?

I was thinking they would once the storm died down. I like him really, I love how brutally honest he is about everything, the confidence of the man, the big cockney head on him. He's like something out of Minder or Only Fools.

In regards to Little Richard I wonder is he pushing for the PDC MC spot. He would certainly be an improvement over the woeful John McDonald.

No sorry, I meant they used to do it, but I believe its robotics now doing it.

Yes John McDonald certainly is woeful, I thought I was the only one who didn't like his style. Too much like boxing, he should stick to the boxing.

I love John McDonald doing it.

Easy for Lewis there, Chizzy very poor.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Chizzy needs to hire a mental coach or something, or find a new one if he doesn't have one.

Does Wade have a numberplate on the back of his shirt!

The Power walking on before Wade.

Literally must be the first time that's ever happened.

Phil really dropping down the order of merit.

Good match between Phil and James enjoyed that glad Wade got a draw and didnt lose.

Really enjoyable game, thought when Phil took out that 142 he'd go on an win. But Wade was better player overall and deserved the draw at least.

Wright is having a mare. MVG going for the whitewash I'd say

    And Wright gets a leg!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Wright having a Chizzy like performance. Banging in the 180s but that's it.

Sky hype machine off again. Potentially the last time Taylor and Barney clash on TV

It's gonna be like this every tournament. Only another 10 months to go.

Who is commentating on Wade/Lewis on Sky?

    edit : Mark Dudbridge.

Sky making sure we won't see the non hand shake between MVG and klaasen.

Klassen v MVG not a bad but it's awful hard to get excited about this format

The last match should be good. Both really need two points and will fancy themselves.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,045 ✭✭✭✭gramar

Chizzy played fairly well and had too much for Kim. The game was over before it began really.

I tend to just have it on the background as I'm doing something else, I am not bothered in the slightest if I miss it though. It's a completely uninteresting tournament but it's vital for raising funds for the PDC to provide the prize money that they do.

With that said, I've no idea why the run so many other non-ranked nothing tournaments throughout the year.

Its really dull and the sky build up and the graphics of the lads looking mean with the beer bellys and extra chins is funny.

Some of the chat before the match is cringe...

when will we get the Taylor tears as this is his last premier league ??

by the time they roll around here there will be 2 players eliminated and i think they will be Klassen and Kim

    MvG having an off day

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Draw probably fair. Lewis looked very good at times but Van Gerwen threw it away towards the end.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

And Gary having a poor night. Credit to Wadey though, throwing well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Wade will be gutted. 5-1 up to down 6-5. Would have taken a point before hand though and stays unbeaten. That leg to level it 5-5 was bizarre with so many missed darts.

In the end he'll be happy to have gotten a draw.

Huybrects bottled it there at the end missing 2 darts at double for the win.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

4 draws tonight. Odds of greater than 1000/1 for the accum. Saw one punter back the five draws at 4300/1 and missed out. I'd be so sick.

    watched it tonight
    nothing changed -
every match still a PREMIER LEAGUE CLASSIC
how many games have they said that about!

kim not happy after tonights game against taylor he wanted to say alot more in interview about taylor but was holding back,a game he should have won but taylor aggravated the sh1te out of him as he does and put him of ,no love lost there i think

He said something about signing the board and then Taylor giving it loads after claiming the draw and there being a lack of respect from him.
They clearly don't get on and you could see Taylor only wanted to win just to piss of Huybrechts. He was delighted to take the win off him right at the end.

Its all very stale at this point, they should just fast forward the final night.. whats the point in pretending chizzy/huybrcechts etc have a hope of not being relegated for 6 weeks.

Chizzy hitting 180 after 180 here and battering Barney.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Ah boy Chizzy. That's some performance.

They need to shake this up, it's getting very boring and irrelevant
