    I would be very careful about getting a table that was mass manufactured. It could easily have soaked up negative energies from the workers or the general aura in the factory if their working conditions weren't very good. Wood is a tricky material too, because obviously being natural it has better synchronicity with white light energy but if the tree was cut down in a painful or disrespectful manner the residual energy of that trauma could ruin your attempts to heal people via manipulation of magical fields.

    Personally I like to perform my magic healing rituals in a pool of sacred druid water. The client just lies facedown in the water, much more conducive to chi propagation. Obviously you're on a bit more strict a timeline for the treatment but if they start to drown you can just give them a snorkel.

    Natural wood tables are better for promoting the auld healing energies. A regular application of Serpens Oleum will really help to bring out the natural grain.

    It's a homeopathy thing. The cause cures the symptom, especially when entirely absent.

    You can perform the Reiki on the table itself 1st if this bothers you.
