I need help and advice

    So I have recently started back running. Doing 5k's but upping the distance every time. I done 10km last night in 54:15 which I was happy enough with as it's only my 8th run since I started back on the 8/1/17. I hadn't done anything since september 2016.

    My main issue is speed. The quickest I can get 5k done in is 26.15. Last year after 3 or 4 runs I had this down to 24.30.

    Also I seem to lack energy during runs which is an issue. Lungs feel fine but legs have no drive in them. Admittedly I am trying to lose a bit of timber. I am currently 13 stone 7 pound 5'10 and 32years of age. I am eating mostly fresh veg and fruit and plenty of water. Can anyone recommend a pre run protein shake or energy boost?

    One more thing, when doing 10ks this year and last year my right foot goes completely numb at around the 8K mark. It's starts with a tingle in the toes and then the foot gradually become numb.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
