Man City XI: Bravo, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy, Toure, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane, Sterling, Aguero

Spurs XI: Lloris, Dier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Rose, Eriksen, Dele, Kane

Can see Spurs ripping these apart, especially Alli & Eriksen in the form they're in.

    City could struggle badly
A bad beating would pile serious pressure on Pep

Draw or City win here would make for a good weekend for Chelsea so far.

Make or break for Pep, no Vertonghen for spurs could be an issue, 2-2.

Ya, theyve been unlucky with that injury, especially considering hes going to be out for a few weeks when they need him most.

No no, not going to be starting nonsense threads but he's starting to show signs of struggle

I said this when he took over at City last year

He's lined his team up super attacking, when ultimately his defense is the weakest aspect of his team

And he does it against a Spurs team who are scoring at will with two of the most in-form attacking players of the season so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

This will be a cracker, fancy Spurs to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,440 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yeah it's a very attacking lineup for City but their defense is so bad it's the only way they have a chance I think.

This could be a really high scoring game.

I've a small wager on Kane and Aguero BTS on Paddy at 6's so I'm hoping for goals anyway. :o

I agree though on the rest, the fact hes not addressed the issue by changing tactics is very naive, you might get away with it when you've Messi or Lewandoski coupled with an excellent defence/goalkeeper but at City he does lack that at the back big time.

I've no want for Pep to fail but I do want Chelsea to finish top 4 and if thats at Citys expense, so be it.

Gabriel Jesus on the bench and no place for Iheanacho

It wouldn't be a bad one for us either! Pity about that late Rooney goal, but one point still wouldn't be what Utd were expecting today. As for us, with our defence,I'd nearly take a draw now. The league has gone, so we're scrapping for a top 4 spot.

Extremely attacking from Pep. Is this back fires the media will go to town on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,527 ✭✭✭Masala

Looking forward to seeing G. Jesus making a debut. Watched some you tube stuff on him and seems an exciting player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Most blatant yellow not given.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

At times you see glimpses of what this City team could be, wonderfully fluid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,527 ✭✭✭Masala

A City goal now would be great.... Score while ahead with possession

Can't decide which result I want here, are Spurs the real deal? Are City now officially "Spursy"? If that's the case I'll take a Spurs win or a draw.

Hoddle talking about the 81 final. What about the favour Gerry Gow did Spurs !!!!

City players asking for cards on each foul

Spurs back 3 struggling to live with City's movement, 2 of their 3 defenders on yellow now.

Say Pool losing to Swansea is for better reading.

How many chances do city need to score.

I know I'm biased (guilty as charged!), but we've been on top in quite a few games that we haven't gone on to win. Those home draw against 'Boro, Saints and Everton immediately spring to mind. 3 points that should have been 9. We're just not clinical enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Chelsea game too.

I've still no idea how we left with 3 points there, even at 1-1 City had 2 great chances.

City great to watch when on form like this.

They are pressing spurs really well to be fair

Forgot about that one. That KDB sitter (no other word for it); if he had stuck that away, we'd have been 2 up and it would have been a long way back for your mob. But he didn't. As I said, not clinical enough. We're on top in this game, but would you bet against Spurs scoring first? No, neither would I.

Its a good game so far, City on top but Spurs defensive record and theyre attacking threat, will always give them a chance.

They've a good away record too this year.

This City press is excellent and required.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Shocking from spurs, they got away with one there.

KDB is in terrible form at the moment.

When we're good, we're very good. But, when we're bad.....

    :(

City needs to get a score... Being ahead on possession is a factor of previous games... But we still lost

There's a real basis to build on next season, it's just some areas need addressing and continued work on the shape.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,484 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

how bad are the refs allowing an offside free kick to be taken from a part of the pitch where you can't be offside lol

Sane should really do better there, IMO.

Defence; number one priority. And then our finishing. The midfield isn't too shabby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Aguero should score there too.

City missing some decent chances at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Good save Lloris

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Guardiola's point kind of being proven here. Making so many great chances but not scoring them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

All City now, pressure on Spurs to see it out until HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

I think Marriner has done well today, left a lot go and kept the game flowing which has helped.
