One union?

Have heard a lot of people talking recently and advocating there should be just one union for Post-primary sector
I do believe myself it's hopeless having two unions but you're asking turkeys to vote for Xmas asking them to amalgamate- suits government to have the sector divided and head honchos are only looking after their own pay pocket- one union = half the management

    My question is
What do you think it'd take for the unions to amalgamate and would there be any cons to it?
