Racing have nothing to play for only pride and Munster have a chance to get up nearer the top of the table.Racing probably won't roll over either, but Munster at home will let loose at the French boys...

I'd expect Racing to get a few points on the board but would also expect Munster to beat them by 20 points.

Racing are going to lose so badly that the ERC will have to fine them afterwards to retain the integrity of the competition.

Racing are going to lose so badly that the ERC will have to find a random cash-strapped Romanian club afterwards to distract the attention from just how gutless Parisian clubs are.

Bookies have it down as a 26 point spread which is fair enough. I'd expect Munster to better that though and win by something along the lines of 45-10.

Just need to keep the scoreboard ticking over, an early score or two would break them you'd think. No injuries please, last match of a very long run and we haven't had too many to worry about

    Love that 2nd row.

The majority of the foreigners are being kept back for their Top14 game against Lyon next week as they're losing their French internationals.

Quite a good Racing side coming to Thomond, I still expect a win, but not as comfortable as the bookies have been predicting?

Was trying to find this game on the TV guide, seems to be on after some show called "Walk in the park" and before another called "Forgone conclusion". Might watch all three but seems they are all about the same thing :pac:

Yeah currently -24 is the spread.
I can't really call it tbh.

If I felt I had to have a bet I'd probably predict that we'd beat that, but the floodgates would have to open somewhat in the last 20 minutes. And I wouldn't like that edgy feeling I'd get at that point in the game if I had a bet on.

Whereas having no bet on the game I can watch with unbridled delight so long as we're ahead at all!

The Racing bench looks weak. The strength is the starting front five and back three.

Starting for the A's so not rated. Would be surprised if we don't get a back-up TH for next season.

We're gonna have to rely on him after this month arent we? Du Toit heading home end of January?

Glad to see Dan Carter being rested prior to a recall by the All Blacks now that Cruden has signed for Montpellier. :D

Id be annoyed If I payed for tickets just to see the big names such as Carter

Hopefully a bonus point win and a home qf to look forward too after the 6N

What I loved about the Heineken Cup was that at times you got to see the world stars playing in Thomond Park, we've had two World Cup Captains play there for their club, both beaten :) but now we don't get to see Carter play.

The Munster team is a strong as Rassie could pick so he's not taking anything for granted. A win secures a home QF and brings in much needed finances, I see in the Indo today that Leinster stand to gain a €1m from a home QF so we should looking at taking €0.5m from one.

Depends by what you mean by we. The IRFU take a substantial cut from the money of a home QF into central funding

Do they? I thought that was only for semi finals.
Munster made 450,000 from the qf against Toulouse in 2014.

Carter is on a twitter spree of personally apologising to people who are disappointed he's not going to be appearing in Thomond...

Some massive lumps in that Racing pack. Fa'aso'o their number 8 is a huge size for a 22 year old back row, his profile has him close to 20st. Their front row is a quality set.

If anyone bought tickets to a Munster match just to see one opposition player play, then they shouldn't have bought tickets. Personally I don't care who's playing for the opposition. I'm there to see and support Munster.

Our strategy should be to just run them off the pitch. These guys haven't got the stamina to match us, ROG said fitness and conditioning were the difference between the two sides 2 weeks ago. Tomorrows weather looks like a perfect day for rugby

I think for the H/Cup and it's probably carried forward into the Champions Cup that the IRFU allow the provinces keep the income from a home QF.

In the SF the income is divided between both participating clubs and the IRFU take 50% of the home team. Not sure what happens when both participating teams are Irish.

A few years ago the then MR accounts guy gave the MRSC AGM an insight into the breakdown of knockout games and iirc this is what happens. I think the IRFU doesn't take any share of a Pro12 SF.

Three European games in a row will take a toll but hopefully the Irish contingent come through unscathed and tuned up for the 6N. :)

ERC take all ticket sales money for the SF and final and then the clubs get prize money which the IRFU take and redistribute. The provincial side gets a cut of prize money but only after IRFU take their cut and money for the other provinces.

For a QF the IRFU take a 50% cut of profit from the hosting province. Garret Fitzgerald spoke some years ago how a home SF in the Pro12 was actually worth more to the province. Not sure if that included the sponsorship bonus linked with European progress.

Well I'm not going if Carter isn't there.

I'd say this could get pretty ugly for a Racing side with nothing but pride to play for. Munster will turn the screw, and are likely to eventually run away with it.

When was the last home game Munster didn't score at least four tries in?

That could be correct, I must see if I can find my post on it from before.

The reason GF said the Pro12 SF is worth more is the IRFU never put anything in place for them to get a slice of the income.

A win means a top 3 seeding. A win with a BP means a possible first and second seed depending on Saracens and Clermont Auvergne's results.

4 tries and a 4 point bigger margin then Sarries over Toulon = no. 2 seed. Don't see Clermont not getting a TBP but if they do fail we beat then on PD easily

Edit to add. I hope Clermont do get a BP and have Toulon in their quarter.

You'd have to think that we can achieve the result for #2 seed if that's the case. When you look at the Racing team sheet it's hard to expect the big result, but games aren't played on paper and, due to recent results and form, I am expecting a very big result. #SUAF

Ideally we don't want to meet Leinster in the semi's as our home advantage will be taken off us just like 2009. Munster have been so unlucky in the past with semi final draw it would be ashame to have to play Leinster 'away' in our home semi.

Munster second seeds and Leinster 4th would avoid that. Therefore a Sarries win should suit us.

Didn't bother us too much in 2006.

True....but at least Leinster were the 'home' team in that game so playing in Lansdowne road was their advantage out of the draw

Munster took the home dressing room in 06 and made Leinster move after they had already set up in there.

After Leinster taking their foot off Europe's throat last night, it's gonna be all about points scored today.
We really need to rack up a score. A top 2 seeding is there for the taking.

Looking for a bit of guidance. Have two tickets for the match, one of which was a student ticket intended for my brother. He can't go now so hoping to bring someone who isn't a student. Is there a way to change the ticket to an adult ticket? Obviously happy to pay the difference in the price. Ticket office isn't open for calls.
