Looks good. Would prefer those specs in a slightly smaller form factor though. Lots of phone manufacturers seem to be making good 5.5" screen phones but I find these a bit too big. 5-5.2" would be ideal.

Great to see nokia back in the game, albeit under licence.for the price the specs look great on that phone, only thing that might put me off is the 430 chipset.i dont really need a new phone atm,but if they brought out a flagship version i would be tempted.beautiful looking phone it is too.

Anyone know of a release date on this? Looks great for the price, would love to pick one up. Always been a Google phone guy, but don't fancy forking out 800€ for one TBH. Plus would like to a change, this seems decent, switching from a Nexus 5 BTW. Anyone any ideas?

According to this it should be available globally soon.apparently it was originally a china only release and sold out in 23 seconds (i would take that with a pinch of salt though)

If you look at the homepage for HMD Global, who hold the licence for Nokia, they are made up mostly of ex Nokia staffers and designers. So even if they aren't doing all of the direct manufacturing themselves they are still designing and working in the classic Nokia style.

This would be quite different to other classic brands who have licensed their name over the years; Polaroid is a good example of poor quality cheap electronics using the Polaroid brand to shift units.

Moto G5+ has similar specs, 5.2" screen

Looking at an upgrade in the next few months and currently priced out of the flagship market.

    Narrowed it down to:

    1. Nokia 6

    2. Moto G5 Plus

    3. Sony XA1

    4. Honor 6X

    Alot of things to consider:

    1. Camera Quality
    2. Processor Speed
    3. Software (and Software Updates)
    4. Battery Life
    5. Price

Moto G5 plus comes out on top on all those except software updates, which isn’t a deal breaker.

Any idea of the distribution channels for these new Nokia handsets?

Was thinking of getting a Nokia 3 for the ma, but where will the be available from?

    Hopefully Amazon or CPW sim-free!

If you go to the Nokia website you can sign up for notifications via email when they will be available,I presume they will have links as well as to where to buy them

Grand job so. Basically they haven't announced any distribution partners or Network operators who'll carry the new phones yet :)

Getting back to the original topic, that Nokia 6 is a great phone at the price point (they all are). I hope they sell well, but I'm also looking forward to the Nokia 8 being announced :D

Hi guys, apologies for reviving an old thread but the Nokia 6 is now available in America and I was contemplating ordering one from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072FN59FH/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

Now someone asked whether it would be support international carriers and a customer answered yes. What do you think, would there be any issue ordering it and using in Ireland? Thank you.

It will be available to buy on clove on august 2nd or thereabouts, you might be better off waiting the extra few weeks just incase you had any issues with the phone and needed to return it.
Carphonewarehouse uk will also have it where it will be a tenner cheaper than clove
Having said that,it works out about 50 euros cheaper on amazon usa

    Thanks for the reply droidman,

I think if it was anyone other than Amazon I'd be reluctant to buy. If it was definitely unlocked I might take a shot. Of course you'd be mindful of it potentially getting damaged in transit.

If they stuck with the UK dates you mentioned I could wait but they've pushed them forward already :D

I thought it was pretty clear

The main issue is the low end CPU.
Its not a good match for the resolution or the price point.
If it was matched to a 720p screen and was €100-150 cheaper that would make more sense.

If you don't care, and like the phone otherwise then grand. It may also drop in price.

I like the faded print below the price

These are global average estimated retail prices and local prices will vary depending on duties, taxes and currency exchange rates.

    We'll be scalped so.

They will be selling for 219 sterling in carphonewarehouse uk, can be ordered through addresspal or clove uk will be selling them for 229 sterling

I'll be in Belfast in a few weeks.

You my or may not, I was asked for proof of address in the North before selling me a phone there. I left empty handed.

Not wanting to take away from what StereoSound said, but I purchased a Nokia 3 in Carphone Warehouse Newry a couple weeks ago and wasn't asked for any proof of address. He was quite nice actually and we talked about Nokia phones in general. He said the new 3310 sold out in pre orders before even entering the store.

The Nokia 3 will keep me going fine until the flagship comes out. Everyone's different but the only thing I miss is fast charge, everything else runs great on it. So I'm sure the 6 will be a great option for people.

Which is why I actually said €249 in an earlier post which is the reported price it will be on sale for here, Taxes and so on will up that listed price on their site.

I'd be interested in your opinion of the Nokia 3 as a budget phone ?

Just doing a quick compare with the Vodafone Smart V8 at the same price point and it seems to be slightly higher spec overall than the Vodafone... anybody dithering between the 2 phones have an opinion?

    Hi cal60, no problem.

I've had the phone just under three weeks and so far I'm impressed with it. It definitely doesn't feel like a budget phone when you hold it. Has a nice feel.

I had an S6 before this and it would be foolish to compare them but things like Facebook/Whatsapp/Spotify/Casting to TV, which I did on the S6 I can do on the Nokia 3 with no issues. The reason I got the 3 was because of my love for Nokia and eagerness to get one of these new phones in my hand and I'm glad I did.

The only thing I miss is fast charging, but it is manageable if you charge overnight or in work.

Everyone is different, and the 3 probably won't be for everyone but if its in your budget range I'd recommend giving it a look.

If you have any other questions feel free to drop me a PM :)

The smart V8 has the newer Snapdragon 435 v the older 430 in the Nokia 6. Other then that the specs are the same.

The Nokia 6 matte is 4gb ram and 64gb internal though, that's a jump up from the Vodafone

I thought the upgraded specs were only available in the special edition arte black (glossy fingerprint magnet case).

I'd prefer 4gb with 64gb storage, but didn't want the shiny case.

Just had a look at this in the local Three shop.
Seems like a premium phone to the touch alright.
No sign of performance issues in use, but then it wasn't asked to run anything processor heavy.

For anyone willing to wait,it now looks like the nokia 8 will launch on the 16th august at an event in london.this will be the flagship and obviously dearer than the the nokia 6,maybe best to wait for more solid details before starting a thread on it.

There are also thoughts that this will be the first device to get the Android O release.

Yeah i seen that,i think on geekbench, but they reckon they could be just trying it out for future compatibility tests, either way it wont matter because the new nokias will get "o" when it is released.i dont really need a new phone but the pure vanilla is tempting me.if it is under the €500 mark,as some reports suggested,i dont think i will be able to hold back.i was very close to getting the nokia 6 but the 435 chipset was niggling me too much.i am also used to a 4100 mah battery in my oppo, so the 3000 in the nokia 6 was a drawback for me too, although the nokia 8 is supposed to be only 3200 mah

It doesn't even have the 435 chipset, it's the lesser 430 the Nokia 6 has.
